Commissioning Project Manager

Praetorian Power Protection, a leader in NETA testing and staff augmentation to the mission-critical industry, is seeking an experienced Commissioning Project Manager to oversee complex technical commissioning lifecycles for data centers and mission-critical facilities.

In this role, you will act as a hands-on technical leader, ensuring that electrical and mechanical systems are installed, tested, and fully compliant with design intent, owner requirements, and rigorous safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Project Lifecycle Management: Plan, execute, and manage comprehensive commissioning plans and integrated schedules covering inspection, startup, testing, and closeout phases.

- Field Execution & Safety: Lead commissioning field activities, directing internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors while enforcing strict compliance with NFPA 70E and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) safety protocols.

- Software & Documentation Oversight: Implement and oversee commissioning management tools and platforms—such as CxAlloy, BIM360, and ACC Build —to track documentation, issue resolution, and execution.

- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate closely with clients and client commissioning agents to define project-specific requirements, test scripts, and turnover documentation.

- Technical Reviews & Quality Control: Manage MEP system reviews, QA/QC coordination, load bank planning, equipment startups, and factory witness testing (FAT).

- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a technical resource for design reviews, scope matrix development, budgeting, and script feasibility for high-performance building systems.

Qualifications

- Experience: 6+ years of experience in commissioning electrical systems, power distribution, or mechanical infrastructure within data centers or mission-critical facilities. Proven data center commissioning background is strictly required.

- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of power distribution, redundancy, reliability requirements, and Level 1–5 commissioning (Cx) processes per ASHRAE guidelines. Familiarity with electrical testing tools (power meters, infrared thermography, breaker test sets).

- Software Proficiency: Experience with commissioning software (CxAlloy, BIM360, ACC Build) and familiarity with electrical design tools (AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP).

- Travel: Up to 30%
