The Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics team at The Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner. We are a multidisciplinary team of physicians, APPs, PhDs, and therapists serving patients from the 25 counties surrounding the Capital District of New York, as well as patients from Vermont and Western Massachusetts.

This position is ideal for a provider who is energetic and in search of opportunities to develop an area of specialization or engage in innovative program development as we continue to be a growing division.

The team provides diagnostic and medical management including psychopharmacology management of patients up to 21 years of age with the broad range of developmental and behavioral concerns including ASD, ADD, learning and developmental issues. We partner closely with psychiatry, pediatrics, pediatric specialists, medical residents/students, and with several local colleges to train interns in SW and psychology. The current medical team includes two experienced Developmental Behavioral Physicians and two Nurse Practitioners. An interdisciplinary team of Child Psychologist, social work and case management staff provide child and family counseling, Parent Management Training, Social Skills groups and facilitate connections with community resources and school supports.

Position Highlights include:

- Evaluation and diagnosis of pediatric patients with developmental disorders and/or behavioral health concerns

- Interdisciplinary developmental assessments

- Integrated behavioral health services

- Training in completing a formal ASD evaluation (ADOS) as well as developmental assessments such as the Battelle developmental inventory

- Residency training program with 12 Pediatric and 4 Medicine Pediatric residents per year

- Mentorship by senior experienced DB Peds physicians and APPs

- Affiliations with local colleges and universities expand opportunities for collaborative research in neurodevelopmental disabilities

- Typical hours of 8a-5p with a combination of new and follow-up visits

Qualifications:

- License and active registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State

- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

- Experience in management of pediatric patients is strongly encouraged for those interested in this position
- Knowledge of psychopharmacologic management in the pediatric population is encouraged, but not a mandatory requirement

- Familiarity working in electronic medical records; Epic experience a plus

- Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment

- Ability to maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality

- Advanced Trauma Life Support and Basic Life Support certification required

- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position in a clinical environment, including, but not limited to, standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Requires sufficient visual, auditory, and manual dexterity abilities to assess patients, provide direct patient care, operate medical equipment, and complete documentation
