Citi Funds Transfer Pricing (CitiFTP) is a strategic Treasury platform undergoing significant expansion as part of Treasury's transformation roadmap. The platform supports critical Funds Transfer Pricing processes globally and continues to expand into new products, business capabilities, cloud modernization initiatives, regulatory programs, and enterprise data transformation efforts.
The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior-level technology leadership role responsible for driving the design, development, implementation, and support of strategic applications and data solutions supporting CitiFTP. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across a globally distributed team while remaining hands-on with application development, data engineering, architecture, and production problem resolution.
This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership, business partnership, and problem-solving skills to deliver innovative technology solutions that support Treasury's strategic objectives while ensuring platform stability, scalability, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Application Development & Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of strategic CitiFTP applications and data solutions.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and technology teams to deliver business capabilities and strategic platform enhancements.
- Provide technical leadership across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Ensure application and data solution designs align with Citi's enterprise architecture standards and technology roadmap.
- Drive platform modernization and scalability initiatives supporting Treasury transformation objectives.
- Establish and promote development standards, coding best practices, testing methodologies, and solution design principles.
- Conduct technical design reviews, code reviews, and architecture assessments to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Data Engineering & Analytics
- Design and develop scalable data processing and analytics solutions using Big Data / Cloud ecosystem technologies, Hadoop / AWS / Google Cloud.
- Perform complex data analysis, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause investigations across application and data platforms.
- Drive improvements in data quality, data integrity, and operational efficiency across the CitiFTP ecosystem.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Treasury, Finance, Operations, Infrastructure, Information Security, and Architecture teams to deliver strategic initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate across global teams to ensure successful delivery of business and technology objectives.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
- Lead resolution of complex production issues and major technology incidents.
- Drive root cause analysis and implementation of long-term corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with Citi's technology risk, control, security, and governance standards.
Team Leadership
- Serve as a technical lead and mentor for developers and analysts across multiple regions.
- Provide guidance on solution design, development standards, troubleshooting, and implementation strategies.
- Allocate work, review deliverables, and support the professional development of team members.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience in application development, software engineering, systems analysis, or related technology roles.
- Strong hands-on software development experience with Java, Python, and PySpark , including designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise-grade applications and large-scale data processing solutions.
- Advanced SQL skills with demonstrated experience performing complex data analysis, query optimization, performance tuning, root cause analysis, and production troubleshooting.
- Strong experience working with Hadoop ecosystem technologies including Hive, Spark, Impala, HDFS, and enterprise data platforms .
- Strong experience building and supporting large-scale distributed data processing and analytics solutions.
- Strong Unix/Linux administration skills with proficiency in shell scripting, automation, and system troubleshooting.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable application architectures, APIs, and distributed systems in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented design, application architecture, and development best practices.
- Deep understanding of incident, problem, change, release, and operational risk management practices.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams during major production incidents, technology implementations, and platform enhancement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve high-impact issues through in-depth analysis of complex business processes, system processes, and technology solutions.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively within global, distributed technology organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Treasury, Finance, Funds Transfer Pricing, Liquidity Management, Capital Management, or Banking applications.
- Experience supporting Autosys or equivalent enterprise scheduling and workload automation solutions.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar monitoring and operational support tools.
- Experience designing and supporting batch and real-time data integration solutions.
- Experience delivering technology solutions supporting regulatory, audit, control, and risk management initiatives within financial services.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data management, data governance, and data quality principles.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more areas including application development, data engineering, Treasury technology, enterprise architecture, or large-scale data platforms.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Master's degree preferred

$125,760.00 - $188,640.00
