Job Summary
In this role, you will drive total DGIC category leadership through the development, implementation, and enablement of insight-based data and research tools (Circana, Thoughtspot, primary/secondary research, internal financial reporting/tools). You will champion and build insights, category strategies, and data-based solutions to enable Category and Customer Managers at key partnership customers.
This position contributes to the Commercial Planning process by providing and enabling data and research-based solutions to key stakeholders including total distribution point forecasting and reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop Valued Capabilities : Improving selling capabilities and adding customer value through improved analytics and insights, and continuous improvement
Supplement Circana team training as needed on Circana tools, measures, and data analytics to support the increase and deployment of category knowledge and insights
- Identify, action against and share category driving insights and thought leadership, including providing feedback and direction to Circana team on thought leadership and analyses. Contribute to and deliver ideas and content for yearly planning and quarterly category calls with the Sales team.
- Upskills Account Associate (AA) team throughout year via data analytic and category insight training.
- Category and DGIC Performance : Achieve performance objectives by developing and enabling category strategies and insights to drive category and DGIC growth at key category captain and advisor accounts.
Enable the development of key customer category strategies and stories based on specific needs for high-profile customer needs (i.e. category captain/advisor accounts).
- Enable big picture category leadership insights and stories for the total ice cream category including key 4P category and DGIC strategies.
- Incorporate Brand Objectives, Growth Drivers, Category Roadmap Strategies, Activation Tactics, New Item Plan by channel / customer from Brand plan, Shopper Marketing insights and tactics into the distribution point expansion/tracking sections of the commercial plan.
- Drives and enables new financial based reporting tools (trade, shopper marketing, merchandising fees) for DGIC sales team.
- Key lead in integrating and developing advanced data applications such as Thoughtspot, R, Circana (IRI) Unify, MS Excel, and JD Edwards ERP system into DGICs everyday business and yearly commercial plan.
- Integrated Approach : Data and Insights resource for cross-functional teams during ongoing business operations, yearly planning, and ad hoc business needs.
- Drive Quality : Become a quality agent by continuously checking our products in various stores and location. Provide feedback and challenge as necessary to help the organization understand the retail experience.
Experience
- Experience in a sales planning, sales operations or sales reporting role, and/or category management sales roles in CPG industry.
- History in data management (IRI, Nielsen, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI, and other data sources) and insight building. Proven ability to develop sound insights and strategies across multiple data points.
- Commercial experience, high developed collaboration and influencing skills, self-starter, results driven, entrepreneurial
- Knowledge of customer best practices, market intelligence, category/channel/ shopper trends and shopper Insight into actionable ideas.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The pay scale disclosed below has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Dreyers Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between $90,000 and $130,000 per year.
