Position Summary:

The Trader is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of Fixed Income, Equity, ETF and foreign-exchange transactions for client accounts and discretionary managed portfolios. The role seeks best execution through approved brokers, monitors market conditions and portfolio risks, and ensures trading activity complies with applicable policies, procedures, risk limits and regulatory requirements. The Trader provides execution, market and product support to the Commercial and Discretionary Portfolio Management teams, coordinates the trade lifecycle with operations and settlement teams, maintains effective counterparty relationships, and contributes to continuous improvement of the Trading Desk.

Position Duties / Responsibilities

Trading Execution and  Controls
• Executes Fixed Income, Equity, ETF and FX transactions for client accounts and discretionary managed portfolios
• Seeks best execution using approved brokers and committee-approved criteria
• Delivers accurate and timely execution in accordance with Trading Desk policies and procedures
• Monitors orders and executions, identifies potential issues and takes appropriate action to minimize errors
• Ensures activity is consistent with regulatory status, risk limits, mandates and internal requirements

Commercial and Discretionary Portfolio Management Support
• Provides the Commercial and DPM teams with responsive execution support and relevant market and product information
• Maintains regular contact with internal clients to provide market color and execution-related guidance
• Incorporates feedback from bankers and portfolio managers into the Trading Desk service proposition

Market Expertise, Desk Coverage And Teamwork
• Applies knowledge of financial markets, trading systems and instruments throughout market hours
• Monitors prices, liquidity and market developments across cash, OTC and derivatives markets
• Provides additional desk coverage when required and works collaboratively to maintain continuity of service
• Promotes high performance, continuous improvement and a strong commitment to execution quality

Stakeholder And Trade-Lifecycle Management
• Manages day-to-day relationships with approved brokers and internal stakeholders
• Coordinates with securities processing and settlement operations to support proper trade confirmation, clearance and settlement
• Escalates breaks, exceptions and material risks promptly and keeps relevant stakeholders informed • Other duties as assigned or requested by immediate supervisor.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience

Business Experience:

5 - 6 years of relevant experience or demostrated required level of proficiency Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge:

• Knowledge of multi-asset trade execution, including order handling and execution across Fixed Income, Equities, ETFs and FX, with an understanding of approved-broker requirements and best-execution principles
• Knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity markets, including market structure, liquidity, pricing, valuation methodologies, macroeconomic drivers, credit and interest-rate risk, equity-market dynamics, and factors affecting transaction costs
• Proficiency in Bloomberg and electronic trading and market data platforms, including execution venues such as Tradebook and MarketAxess, with the ability to monitor prices across cash, OTC and derivatives markets
• Knowledge of trade confirmation, clearance, settlement processes, and the full order-to-settlement lifecycle
• Understanding of market, portfolio, and operational risk concepts, including the identification of market and execution risks, evaluation of portfolio exposures, monitoring of risk limits, and escalation of exceptions or control gaps
• Ability to coordinate effectively with brokers and internal stakeholders, including Commercial, DPM, securities processing, operations, and settlement teams
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong PowerPoint and Word skills. Experience with programming, automation, or other technology-based solutions is desirable

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range:

Minimum:
$80,625.00 USD
Maximum:
$135,000.00 USD
