Development Associate

Job Summary:

The Development Associate will support the development department at Irish Arts Center through administrative and project management support across its core fundraising revenue lines and manage and grow our membership program ($50 to $1000 donors), growing into a key fundraiser at Irish Arts Center over time. The role’s broader scope includes, but is not limited, to research and pipeline development, annual appeals, donor cultivation and stewardship, and other fundraising activities.  Reports to the Director of Development.

This will be an opportunity to learn a lot about fundraising in a fast-paced development environment, and in an organization at an exciting moment of growth.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

- Maintain membership revenues across all levels

- Manage membership benefits

- Cultivate high-level members and prospective members

- Work closely with other fundraisers to help identify areas of growth and new targets

- Oversee research and prospecting process

- Manage a seasonal research intern

- Work with our Grant Writer and Grants Coordinator, supporting the project management of our government, corporate, and foundation funding

- Manage our annual seasonal appeals at EOY, St. Patrick’s Day, and EOFY

- In collaboration with the broader development team, provide concierge support for major donors

- Perform other department-related tasks as needed

Experience and Education:

- 2-3 years of administrative work experience, preferably in a development or non-profit context

Core Competencies and Skills:

- Ability to take initiative and remain flexible under tight deadlines while working in a fast-paced and complex organization

- Strong verbal and written communications skills

- Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively within a tight-knit team dynamic

- Experience working within a database

- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

- A keen interest and enthusiasm for the arts, Irish culture, education, or other nonprofit areas and causes

Working Requirements (Travel Requirements, Overtime, Shifts, On-Call, etc.):

- This is a hybrid role with a 3 day per week minimum in-person requirement. Periodic night and weekend work required in context of a reasonable workweek.  Consistent with company policies, all full-time employees, including hybrid employees, are expected to maintain their residence of record within a daily commutable distance of Irish Arts Center.  Irish Arts Center provides a commuting subsidy benefit for all on-site employees three days per week or more. Remote work policies are subject to change at the discretion of management.

- This job requires US work authorization.  In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. IAC participates in E-Verify.

Compensation:

- The salary for the Development Associate is $70,000 and includes a full benefit package, including four weeks paid vacation, a high quality health insurance plan (with 100% employer-paid premiums), 403b retirement investment plan, and commuter benefits.

- Irish Arts Center currently provides a monthly commuting credit for full-time employees who are either required to or who elect to work on site at least three days per week as a general rule.
