The Opportunity

Design, develop, and execute strategic and analytic wargames that help defense and intelligence clients explore courses of action, assess complex operational challenges, and test assumptions in a structured, data‑informed environment. In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of wargame development, from problem framing and research design to scenario construction, facilitation, data collection, analysis, and production of decision‑quality outputs.

You will work across a wide range of mission sets in the defense and intelligence enterprise, integrating insights from operational analysis, modeling and simulation, and subject‑matter expertise. You’ll coordinate with stakeholders, shape game constructs to meet sponsor objectives, and deliver rigorous analytic findings that support strategy, policy, capability development, and senior leader decision‑making.

You Have

- 4+ years of experience in defense analysis, analytic wargaming, structured exercises, or formal research
- Experience designing or supporting wargames, tabletop exercises, or simulations, including scenario development, facilitation, data collection, and post‑exercise analysis
- Experience with DoD or interagency operations, processes, or stakeholders
- Experience in operational planning, intelligence analysis, defense policy, or modeling and simulation
- Experience producing analytic assessments, reports, and decision‑support products
- Ability to independently plan, conduct, and analyze research to inform wargame design and execution
- Ability to manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and deliver analytic products in fast‑paced environments
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

- Experience integrating AI‑enabled tools or workflows into wargame design, scenario development, adjudication, or analysis, such as using AI for data synthesis, option generation, visualization, or game artifact production
- Experience developing adversary capability assessments, red cell work, or intelligence‑informed scenarios
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools, operations research techniques, or geospatial tools, such as ArcGIS or QGIS
- Experience with commercial or manual board wargaming
- Experience briefing senior military or civilian leaders
- Experience working within military staff structures or supporting government‑led studies
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication and briefing skills
- TS/SCI clearance
- Master’s degree in International Relations, Military History, Security Studies, Operations Research, or Data Analysis

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
