Summary
As the Sr Manager, Business Development - Global Private Markets, working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, you will play a critical leadership role in driving the market positioning, visibility, client engagement, and business development initiatives supporting one of the Firm's most important strategic growth platforms. Working closely with partners, practice leaders, sector leaders, client teams, communications professionals, and the Global Private Markets leadership team, you will help shape and execute the go-to-market strategy across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, secondaries, asset management, fund finance, continuation vehicles, sovereign investors, family offices, institutional investors, and portfolio company ecosystems.
The role requires a highly strategic and commercially focused business development professional capable of connecting market opportunities with actionable growth initiatives. Leveraging insights developed in partnership with the Sr Market Analyst, you will design and execute integrated marketing campaigns, thought leadership programs, client targeting initiatives, relationship development strategies, events, sponsorships, media opportunities, and profile-raising activities that strengthen the Firm's position within the private markets industry.
You will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, helping identify growth opportunities, elevate market visibility, deepen client relationships, and drive measurable business outcomes across the Global Private Markets platform.
Location
This position is located in our Philadelphia office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development & Growth Initiatives
- Partner with Global Private Markets leadership to develop and implement business development plans supporting strategic growth priorities.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand relationships with private equity sponsors, private credit funds, sovereign wealth funds, infrastructure investors, family offices, institutional investors, and portfolio companies.
- Collaborate with partners and client teams to support client targeting initiatives, relationship mapping, market penetration strategies, and revenue growth opportunities.
- Facilitate cross-selling opportunities across practices, sectors, regions, and client teams.
- Develop strategic growth plans around identified market opportunities and emerging investment trends.
- Partner with Pursuits and Pricing teams to develop Global Private Markets strategic pitches, RFP responses, proposals, and presentation materials.
- Manage marketing budgets and sponsorship investments for Global Private Markets-related initiatives, ensuring resources are aligned with firm and group priorities and deliver a strong ROI.
Thought Leadership & Content Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of the Global Private Markets thought leadership strategy.
- Collaborate with lawyers, industry leaders, communications professionals, and the Senior Market Analyst to develop market-facing content addressing emerging trends, investor priorities, regulatory developments, and industry issues.
- Oversee production of articles, reports, market updates, client alerts, white papers, podcasts, videos, webinars, and executive briefings.
- Ensure content aligns with strategic growth priorities and supports client engagement objectives.
- Establish content calendars and campaign plans across key market themes and industry sectors.
Marketing, PR & Brand Positioning
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that enhance the Firm's visibility within the global private markets ecosystem.
- Partner with Communications and PR teams to identify speaking opportunities, media placements, awards submissions, rankings opportunities, and profile-building initiatives.
- Support development of messaging, positioning, and value propositions for key private markets offerings.
- Coordinate strategic public relations initiatives that elevate firm and lawyer visibility among target audiences.
Digital & Social Media Strategy
- Lead social media planning and execution supporting the Global Private Markets platform.
- Collaborate with internal communications and digital marketing teams to create engaging content for LinkedIn and other relevant channels.
- Monitor campaign performance and audience engagement metrics to optimize results.
- Drive expansion of executive visibility and market influence through coordinated social campaigns.
Events, Sponsorships & Client Engagement
- Develop and execute strategic event programs aligned with business development priorities.
- Manage industry conference participation, sponsorships, roundtables, investor forums, executive dinners, and client-facing programs.
- Collaborate with partners and client teams to maximize relationship development opportunities before, during, and after events.
- Establish processes for measuring event effectiveness and business development outcomes.
Market Activation & Intelligence Commercialization
- Work closely with the Senior Market Analyst to convert market intelligence into actionable business development and marketing initiatives.
- Translate market research, client intelligence, competitive insights, and industry trends into campaigns, client outreach strategies, and growth programs.
- Develop targeted programs around high-growth sectors, investor cohorts, industry trends, and strategic client opportunities.
- Create executive-level briefing materials and market updates that support client conversations and strategic planning.
Pipeline Development & Performance Tracking
- Utilize CRM, relationship intelligence, and business development technologies to track activity, measure campaign performance, and identify growth opportunities.
- Support pipeline development, opportunity tracking, and reporting for leadership.
- Establish KPIs and success metrics for business development and marketing initiatives.
- Analyze program performance and continuously refine strategies to improve effectiveness.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide leadership and mentorship to business development, marketing, and analyst resources supporting the platform.
- Foster collaboration among practice groups, sectors, client teams, communications professionals, and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a key connector across Firm initiatives that intersect with Global Private Markets.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
Minimum Years of Experience
- 8 years of experience in sales and/or marketing in a professional services environment.

Physical Demands

Work Environment
