The Strategy & Operations organization within Bank Tech is looking for a Manager, Project Manager to join the Bank Tech Well-Managed Assurance & Enablement Team as a Well-Managed Advisor . Our team is focused on providing advisory, consulting and enablement services to Engineering Towers across Bank Tech and Shopping Tech to clear administrative friction, translate complex Cyber and Tech compliance requirements into repeatable pathways, and drive continuous well-managed operations. There’s also a strong focus on leveraging data-driven insights and Generative AI automation to build a proactive risk posture that minimizes our overall risk footprint.

As a Well-Managed Advisor in this space, your main focus will be to ensure the successful execution and compliance alignment of key Cyber and Tech Metrics, including Vulnerability Management, Cloud Compliance, End-of-Life (EOL) Software, and Exception closures/renewals. A typical day could include advising and making recommendations to Engineering Leads, conducting reviews of incoming well-managed work, breaking down complex Cyber and Tech requirements into clear guidance for engineers, and engaging with leaders to keep them updated on health metrics. In addition, there will be opportunities to drive innovation across the team, including leveraging Generative AI (e.g. Gemini, GEMs) to automate manual reporting, building process documents/job aids, and elevating overall program maturity.

General Responsibilities:

- Drive Well-Managed Execution :  Plan, design, manage, and executive end-to-end delivery of technical compliance workstreams---including Vulnerability Management, Cloud Compliance, End-of-Life (EOL) Software, and Exception renewals---ensuring strict alignment with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and defined priorities.
- Engineering Enablement & ‘Front Door’ :  Serve as strategic partner, intake liaison, and “Front Door” for engineering teams. Shield engineers from administrative friction, eliminate noise, and identify ways to streamline business and tech processes through self-service resources and clear job aids.
- Proactive Risk & Metric Management :  Shift oversight from reactive “fire drills” to a predictive model. Track key Cyber and Technology Risk metrics, maintain key project documentation, identify pattern trends, and mitigate or escalate potential compliance risks before they impact delivery timelines.
- AI & Operational Automation :  Champion the adoption of Generative AI (e.g. Gemini, GEMs, etc.) and intelligent automation tools to streamline routine Well-Managed activities, eliminate manual spreadsheet dependency, and drive process optimization across engineering towers.
- Cross-Functional Partnership & Agility :  Build and forge strong, collaborative relationships with Cyber, Risk, and Tech Leaders. Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands while embedding well-managed practices into routine Bank Tech leadership cadence and delivery reviews.
- Process & Jira Standardization :  Exhibit strong consulting skills to quickly put structure into place for complex work. Leverage Agile and Jira frameworks to manage project plans, establish standardized playbooks, and mature core services to higher operational capacity levels.
- Data-Driven Insights :  Utilize automated dashboards and data collection mechanisms to provide engineering towers with predictable, transparent, and actionable risk visibility.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
- At least 6 years of Project Management experience
- At least 2 years of Jira experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- 7+ years of Project Management experience driving cross-functional technology initiatives
- PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
- At least 3 years of experience in Process Management
- At least 3 years of experience in Risk Management
- At least 3 years of experience in Relationship Management
- At least 2 years of experience in Technology Governance, Vulnerability Management, or Cloud Compliance environments

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management
Wilmington, DE: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
