Solutions Archt Sr Principal

SAIC is seeking a high energy, detail oriented and highly organized System of Systems Solutions Architect to lead the design, integration, and evolution of DAF Integrated Fires Command and Control Capabilities. In this role, you will oversee multiple distinct systems that must interoperate seamlessly. You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and complex technical execution, ensuring interoperability, security, and scalability across diverse cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

- Architectural Design: Define the overarching framework, principles, and standards for how multiple independent systems interact and share data.
- Interoperability & Integration: Ensure seamless data exchange, communication, and synchronization across platforms, cloud environments, and third-party services.
- Requirements Traceability: Link system requirements directly to software components, functional allocations, and verification test constructs.
- Collaborative Environment Management: Utilize repository tools like Teamwork Cloud for multi-user configuration control and digital thread integration.
- Cross-Disciplinary Leadership: Guide engineering teams through technical interchanges and tasks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with executive leadership, stakeholders, the chief engineer, the lead systems engineer, product managers, and individual system engineering teams to align technical roadmaps with organizational objectives.
- Risk & Trade-off Analysis: Evaluate system performance, security vulnerabilities, and potential bottlenecks; conduct trade studies to optimize reliability and cost.
- Governance & Standards: Establish governance processes, compliance frameworks, and interface definitions to guide ongoing development across all component systems.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor engineering teams, review subsystem designs, and guide technical consensus during complex problem-solving.

- US Citizen with TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s and 10 years of experience or Master’s degree and 5 years of experience.
- 8+ years of system architecture experience in integrated air missile defense, air defense, or integrated fire control, with at least 3+ years focused on multi-system or SoS coordination.
- Experience with Integrated Fires systems, cloud based USSF/DAF systems, customers and missions.
- Demonstrated experience working with the defense industry supporting US Government customers.
- Proficient in SysML/UML, DOORS for requirements, and scripting or software languages like Python or Java for prototyping and simulation.
- Ability to develop end-to-end technical solutions across complex, multi-disciplinary problem sets in Space Systems, IT Systems, GEOINT or SIGINT domains.
- Deep knowledge of cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, API management, data governance, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate dense technical concepts into actionable strategies for non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF).
- Ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with space systems, satellite architectures, ground systems, or space domain awareness.
- Background in IT services, cloud solutions, or managed services for government customers.
- Familiarity with IC systems, community customers and mission sets.
- Prior experience in a Solutions Architect or Chief Engineer role on large government programs.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
