R+L Carriers is seeking a motivated and analytical Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Company's financial information while supporting financial reporting, month-end close, and a broad range of accounting and business initiatives.

The successful candidate combines strong accounting knowledge with sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset. This individual enjoys solving problems, collaborating across departments, and identifying opportunities to improve processes, leverage technology, and strengthen financial reporting.

As we continue building a modern Finance organization, this position offers broad exposure across the Accounting and Finance organization, participation in strategic initiatives, and significant opportunity for professional growth and increasing responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial schedules.
- Review and analyze general ledger activity to help ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
- Research account activity and work with others to resolve accounting and reconciliation differences.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, and other departments to support accounting activities and business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency through continuous improvement and technology.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities.
- Maintain accounting procedures and documentation that support consistent processes and effective internal controls.
- Support additional Accounting and Finance responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Two or more years of accounting experience, with exposure to general ledger accounting and month-end close.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to organize and analyze financial information.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Preferred

- Experience in transportation, logistics, construction, manufacturing, or another asset-intensive industry.
- Experience with Oracle or another large-scale ERP system.
- Experience with process improvement, reporting automation, data analytics, or business intelligence tools.
