About this role

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER (STARLNK GROWTH)

Starlink is a revolutionary satellite constellation, delivering low-latency broadband internet around the world – bringing an unprecedented opportunity to significantly impact communities, businesses, and governments worldwide. The North American Business Development team is seeking a Business Operations Manager to serve as a pivotal partner to help define where the team focuses and how it executes. This role owns the operational backbone of North American Business Development initiatives, while also driving foundational strategy work that shapes the team’s long-term direction. It’s vital that Starlink deals and partnerships be optimized for speed and for scale. This role requires deep program management and business operations expertise, comfort working with both people and data, and fluency in financial analysis, reporting, and the day-to-day mechanics that make Starlink business development initiatives run.

The ideal candidate combines strong program management, business operations, and chief-of-staff capabilities with strategic rigor and long-term vision. This is a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of connectivity technologies with a world-class team focused on connecting every household and traveler.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Own the operationalization of existing and upcoming business development initiatives, driving program management, deal pipeline tracking, cross-functional coordination, and execution discipline so initiatives move with speed and scale

- Build and maintain the inner workings of deal constructs and third-party integrations: tracking systems, reporting cadences, financial and operational metrics, accountability frameworks, and status visibility for leadership

- Partner closely with business development vertical leads, product, marketing, engineering, finance, and legal to ensure clear ownership, timely execution, and clean handoffs from opportunity through launch and scale

- Collect, synthesize, and surface customer, channel, and internal feedback to influence operational excellence and optimize deal tracking of the Business Development team

- Conduct new vertical research, develop big-bet hypotheses, and perform structured assessments of target partners and channels to inform team prioritization and resource allocation

- Report on progress of strategy and operations initiatives, presenting insights, risks, and recommendations directly to Starlink leadership

- Support outreach, intake, and qualification of strategic opportunities; synthesize findings into clear recommendations for the Business Development team

- Drive continuous improvement of team processes, tools, and operating rhythms to increase throughput, clarity, and accountability across growth workstreams

- Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to identify consumer trends, channel opportunities, and emerging technologies relevant to Starlink’s ecosystem

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field

- 5+ years of experience in business operations, program management, strategy, consulting, investment banking, or related roles involving complex cross-functional initiatives

- 3+ years of experience driving execution of revenue or growth-oriented programs, including tracking, reporting, and operationalizing commercial initiatives

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Proven background in program management, business operations, or chief-of-staff roles supporting high-growth or commercial teams in technology, telecommunications, utilities, or subscription-based services

- Experience in management consulting or investment banking, with demonstrated ability to structure problems, build rigorous analyses, and drive recommendations to action

- Familiarity with business development or partnerships in consumer technology, telecommunications, or adjacent sectors – valuable but secondary to operationalizing deal flow and strategic strengths

- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data fluency; comfort with accounting concepts, KPI design, and building clear reporting for leadership

- Demonstrated success operationalizing complex commercial or product initiatives and driving them from concept through execution and scale

- Independently motivated with a track record of project ownership, prioritization under ambiguity, and delivering measurable results

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; able to work effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders

- MBA or master’s degree with a business or technical focus preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed

- Willingness to travel approximately 25-50% of the time to customer locations and other SpaceX locations as required
