About this role
- Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal
- components using various processes include flux-cored arc and shielded
- metal arc welding.
- Lays out, positions, aligns and secures parts and
- assemblies.
- Uses straight edges, combination squares, calipers and rulers
- and examines work for defects and measures work pieces to ensure
- conformance with specifications.
- Monitors the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating parts or warping, shrinking, distortion and expansion of material.
- Typically reports to a supervisor.
- Working knowledge of specific hand tools for position.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
