SALARY RANGE: $45,796.40 - $68,694.60
Works under the direction of the Broadcast Manager to coordinate the production of TV programming with hosts and TV staff members. Produces, directs, edits and writes programs, video packages, public service announcements (PSA), and on-air promotional spots. Prepares and/or selects appropriate animation and graphics. Produces, directs, and supervises TV staff and volunteers during “live” and taped programming. Coordinates the production of programming with TV staff and volunteers. Writes and edits on non-linear edit systems video packages, on-air promotions, and public service announcements. Works independently in the selection of videos, graphics, music, voice talent, and other production elements. Initiates graphic and animation for any program or PSA on television programming; selects appropriate 2D media, 3D media, and 4D time-base video options to maximize visual quality of all television productions and researches and develops ideas of program hosts/volunteers to incorporate graphics and animation into their programs and promotions. Directs and supervises staff and oversees program segments shot on location by transporting and operating remote video production equipment. Analyzes graphics and animation used in programs and PSA’s and develops recommendations and executes upgrades, as appropriate. Oversees television technological changes and production skills. Sets up and designs appropriate lighting and set configurations. Operates studio and field cameras, audio consoles, and character generators, when needed. Operates Master Control by logging, loading, and monitoring video tapes, when needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Film/Video/Television production, Broadcast Media or related degree with three (3) years of related television/video production experience, which includes (2) years training or experience with graphics and animation software and one (1) year of related supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience which enables one to perform the essential duties of the job. Experience with directing multi-camera studio productions, non-linear video editing and writing for broadcast productions preferred.
