We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Data Engineer with 12-15 years of overall experience and strong hands-on expertise in building and maintaining enterprise-scale data engineering solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and integrating them within application.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting batch and real-time data pipelines using the GCP data engineering ecosystem. The candidate should also have a good understanding of broader GCP cloud services, security, monitoring, CI/CD, and production support practices required to operate reliable data platforms. Candidate should be well versed with architecting, design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality backend services, APIs, distributed components, and cloud-native capabilities for the Ready product.
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend services, APIs, distributed components, and cloud-native capabilities.
Build reliable batch and streaming data pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
Develop enterprise-grade ETL/ELT frameworks to ingest data from databases, APIs, files, messaging platforms, and other sources.
Apply strong object-oriented design, modern Java frameworks, concurrency, asynchronous processing, and performance engineering practices.
Design resilient microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven workflows, integration patterns, and distributed system components.
Design and optimize relational data models, BigQuery datasets, schemas, indexes, partitions, clusters, and query execution strategies.
Own complex technical deliverables from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
Lead technical design reviews and contribute to technology roadmaps, modernization initiatives, framework selection, and build-versus-buy decisions.
Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, availability, reliability, security, data quality, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
Implement observability using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerts, and tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, or Datadog.
Troubleshoot complex issues across application, database, data pipeline, infrastructure, integration, and deployment layers.
Implement robust retry, checkpointing, reconciliation, backfill, replay, error handling, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
Apply secure engineering and GCP practices, including IAM, service accounts, encryption, secrets management, authorization, and least-privilege access.
Collaborate with architects, product managers, SRE, DevOps, QA, data teams, ML engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions.
Mentor engineers, promote reusable engineering patterns, leverage AI-assisted development responsibly, and influence technical quality across multiple teams.
