Laboratory Technician-Emulsion Plant

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team at our Bitumen Emulsion Plant in Ballycoolin.

As a Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for the operation of the plant to produce bitumen emulsion and the testing of emulsion samples whilst ensuring the highest level of quality and safety standards are adhered to.

More about what you will do!

- Operating the plant to produce various grades of emulsion.
- To sample and test Bitumen Emulsion Samples
- To sample and test aggregate, asphalt and bituminous binders
- To record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software.
- To undertake daily laboratory equipment checks
- To calibrate Laboratory and Plant Equipment
- To maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the laboratory
- To maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol.
- To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies
- Monitoring raw materials as per production and testing requirements
- To support plant maintenance activities
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as necessitated by your function.
- Be available for shift work and flexibility of working hours will be required from time to time.

What we need from you!

- Be willing to learn new skills associated with plant production and maintenance
- Experience in Process or Manufacturing Industries an advantage
- Have previous experience in sampling and testing of construction materials or transferable skills from other employment types (as full training will be provided)
- Familiar with ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of work.
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Have the physical ability to carry out sampling and handling of bulky or hot materials
- Have the capacity to operate mechanical equipment
- Hold a full driving licence
