As we expand into the Americas, we're looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Spain or LATAM, working US Eastern hours, to help us scale our platform from tens of thousands to hundreds of millions of users.

Your Mission

As Senior Software Engineer at Valdyr, you'll own platform feature development and support across the Americas, working independently and closely with our European team so nothing stalls between time zones. Our platform is scaling into new markets with dynamic requirements, so you'll shape, design, and build fundamental components of our Seamless OS. We'll shape the scope around your background, skills, and technical interests.

You'll work with a team of skilled engineers on a modern, cloud-native architecture: a Go backend running on AWS with Kubernetes, services communicating over gRPC, a React front end, GraphQL and REST APIs, and data in PostgreSQL with event sourcing.

What You Will Do

- Own feature development and support for the platform across the Americas
- Design and build fundamental components as we scale into new markets
- Work closely with the European team to keep work moving across time zones
- Drive projects forward and dig deep to solve problems rather than handing them off
- Tackle complex technical challenges collaboratively and keep improving systems and processes
- Use AI tools in your daily workflow for speed, quality, and better decisions, while applying strong engineering judgment
- Plan and manage your own work, making decisions independently
- Share knowledge and help lift the engineering practices of the team

What You Bring To The Table

- 5+ years as a backend or full-stack engineer in a modern technology environment
- Strong Go and SQL skills; GraphQL, React, or TypeScript is a plus
- Experience in a backend-focused full-stack role, comfortable working in React when needed
- Experience across multiple domains
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, microservices, and event sourcing
- An AI-native way of working, with AI tools integrated into your daily workflow
- A real ownership mindset, with high autonomy and a focus on delivering results
- A startup mindset: you thrive in a small, high-autonomy, execution-focused team
- Growth orientation: you own your development and share knowledge with others
- Excellent communication and strong written and spoken English; Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese is a plus
- Based in Spain or LATAM and available to work US Eastern hours
