Job Overview

The Outlet Selling Team (ST) member’s primary responsibility is to drive sales and profit through servicing and selling to the customer. With a Customer First, always mindset, the ST greets/acknowledges customers, provides outstanding service, guides and suggests, and ensures an outstanding shopping environment throughout the store. The ST is also responsible for new receipt merchandising, selling floor recovery and maintenance, and sales enhancement initiatives that drive the customer experience and store operating efficiency including, pricing, merchandise handling, and stockroom maintenance.

Essential Functions

- Display engaging and welcoming behaviors that will drive a differentiated off-price service experience for our customers, on the selling floor, at checkout, and in the fitting room.

- Perform various points of sale register transactions including sales, returns, Bloomingdale’s credit cards, payments, and the counting of cash efficiently and accurately.

- Deliver company standard in loyalty enrollments. Open a minimum of one new credit account for hours worked up to twenty each week, averaging two per week for a full-time ST.

- Work with a heads-up behavior, acknowledging every customer all the time, driving an outstanding experience that is reflected in Net Promoter Score feedback.

- Has an affinity for merchandise and selling, curious & knowledgeable about current assortment and new deliveries.

- Merchandise new receipts and recover, fill in, and maintain the selling floor to prescribed standards, ensuring a clean, neat, easy-to-shop environment for our customers, always. Backstock new receipt surplus.

- Maintain fitting rooms to impeccable standards, calling out maintenance needs to store leadership.

- Ensure merchandise is customer-ready, addressing missing tickets and merchandise security tags and equipment, and moving any damaged pieces to the designated area in the stockroom.

- Support logistics work as needed during high workload moments, executing and handling markdowns and pulling outbound merchandise, and receipt processing as needed.

- Protect company assets, adhering to all operational procedures including access control, merchandise protection, safety, and security standards for high-value goods.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

- High School diploma or equivalent required

- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers

- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals

- Frequent use of technology; able to use and navigate various technological devices

- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays

Essential Physical Requirements

- Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department

- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision and climbing ladders

- Frequent use of computers and other technology that is necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.

- Frequently lift/move up to 50lbs
