Coating Inspector - Puma

Mitsubishi Chemicals UK are to build a new production plant adjacent to their existing plant on Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull, named the PUMA project.

The coating Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and integrity of piping and structures painted on the PUMA construction project. The inspector will perform regular inspections, assessments, and tests on coating systems to ensure they meet industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications. This position requires attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

You will be site based in the PUMA project offices.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale construction project, ensuring the quality and safety of all piping systems.

As a Coating Inspector, your activities will include the following:

- Execute coating Inspections in line with Quality control plans, procedures, British standards and client specifications.

- Verify compliance with standards, specifications and approved procedures.

- Issue and manage quality records, reporting non-conformance where required.

- Oversee material storage, certification and calibration of instrumentation.

- Witness and approve coating process qualifications.

- Inspect surface preparation and monitor environmental conditions before painting.

- Perform thickness checks for wet and dry films and ensure correct coating cycles.

- Perform overall visual inspections ensuring surface is defect free.
