Join us and help keep that infrastructure safe, available and efficient. </div><div>As a Critical Environment Field Service Engineer, you will be accountable for the availability, safety and operational performance of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure inside our leased datacenters, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, within scope and in alignment with Microsoft standards. You will own the relationship with the landlord partners who operate that infrastructure, govern every change that touches the live environment, and support at a regional level for critical environment risk and escalations. Join us and help shape the future of the world. </div> Responsibilities <div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems within a data center environment, ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance programs </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Ensure uptime and reliability of critical environment systems through proactive monitoring, maintenance oversight, and risk mitigation  </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Lead operational excellence by executing and governing processes such as maintenance procedures, incident reviews (RCAs), and change management  </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Drive safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to Microsoft standards and immediately addressing risks or incidents  </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Partner cross-functionally with engineering teams, vendors, and landlord partners to optimize DataCenter performance and resolve issues across a country or the subregion, </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Identify and reduce risk, minimizing human-error and high-impact incidents year over year  </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Support emergency response readiness, acting as an escalation point for facilities-related incidents  </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Deliver efficiency outcomes by advancing cost optimization and energy efficiency initiatives and support data-driven operations through the accurate measurement and reporting of key metrics, including power, temperature, and service-level (SLA) performance </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Recognizes and communicates the customer impact of operational events such as lock-downs and maintenance windows, planning accordingly to minimize disruption to clients and the business. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Act as a regional subject matter expert for Critical Environment operations, providing remote and on-site support to leased datacenter sites across the sub-region beyond the home site, </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Shares best practices; assists others in learning role, process, procedures and provides mentorship across data centers </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Support new site onboarding, landlord partner transitions, and hand-over of newly delivered capacity within the sub-region   </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Provide coverage and backfill for peer FSEs at other sites during absences, vacancies, or periods of elevated activity   </li></ul></div> Qualifications <div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>High School Diploma or equivalent AND 7+ year(s) industry experience in a DataCenter or other critical environment facility,  </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>OR 10+ years industry experience and college course work.  </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>5+ years’ experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, Chillers, AHU...)  </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Experience applying formal change and maintenance controls (MOP/SOP/EOP) and participating in root cause analysis in a live production environment. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Willingness and ability to travel across the sub-region on a regular basis to provide on-site support, with travel expected to represent a meaningful proportion of working time (typically up to 25–30%, varying with business need) </li></ul></div> This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. <hr> Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
