Salary: Up to £12.93 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Hospitality Assistant to join their team of staff in the Catering department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

- You support all kitchen operations, undertaking a wide range of catering duties to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of food services.
- You prepare food to agreed recipes, quality standards and presentation requirements, ensuring consistency across all meals.
- You undertake all kitchen duties as required, supporting colleagues to ensure daily catering operations run efficiently.
- You ensure all food is prepared, stored and served in accordance with food safety legislation and organisational policies.
- You understand and comply with all emergency procedures, alarms and evacuation protocols.
- You work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team, recognising the contribution of colleagues across all departments.
- You provide a welcoming, courteous and professional service that enhances the patient experience.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

- Previous kitchen or hospitality experience.
- College, HND or equivalent catering qualification, or relevant industry experience.
- Good knife skills and safe food preparation techniques.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Good understanding of HACCP principles, COSHH and safe working practices.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and food safety standards.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and colleagues.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.0.
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet service requirements.
- Professional appearance and willingness to comply with the hospital uniform policy.
