Propulsion control - Service Engineer

We are looking for a Service Engineer – Propulsion Control Systems to handle installation, commissioning, diagnostics and maintenance of advanced propulsion control and monitoring systems used in marine vessels.

Location - Dubai

What will you be doing:

- Installation and Commissioning (New or retrofit) of Propulsion control system, Tuning, Troubleshooting and repairing of propulsion control systems (pitch, load, thrust, joystick, DP integration)

- Perform onboard commissioning, retrofits, and periodic maintenance

- Analyse system logs, trends, and alarms for performance tuning and fault diagnostics

- Interface with clients, shipyards, and OEM partners professionally

- Generate technical reports and service documentation

To be successful, you will need the following:

- Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.

- Do you have minimum 3 years of relevant experience in marine automation/control systems?

- Strong understanding of Various types of Drive motor Starter panels (Auto transformer, Soft Starter, VFDs etc.) and electrical circuits.

- Strong understanding of PLC, HMI, and fieldbus communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Modbus, Profibus)

- Knowledge in Hydraulic system.

- Hands-on experience with Electro/Hydraulic pitch control systems

- Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels or offshore platforms

Education: Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with Wärtsilä Engine controls systems

- Excellent fault-finding and root cause analysis skills

- Strong written and verbal communication

- Self-motivated and safety-conscious
