Job Title: Full Stack Engineer – Data & AI Location: Bangalore   Overview: As a Full Stack Engineer in the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) at Merck Life Science, you will collaborate with a global team of product owners, solution architects, data engineers, and application engineers. Your primary focus will be on developing data-driven web applications and APIs, integrating agentic AI workflows into production applications, and delivering user-facing data products on our UPTIMIZE Platform (Palantir Foundry, AWS). We aim to create data and analytics products that empower data-driven decisions and engage our users. This role focuses on product-grade application development and integration rather than researching ML modeling.   Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain state-of-the-art data applications in Palantir Foundry and/or AWS.
- Build data-driven internal applications with web applications and APIs to enable analysts and business users to explore, monitor, and act on data insights.
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript that integrate with Palantir/AWS and other internal systems.
- Implement and deploy agentic AI workflows using LLM frameworks and cloud-native services, including tool-calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-step reasoning capabilities.
- Integrate AI agents into existing applications through internally built interfaces in data apps and workflow automation.
- Own features end-to-end from design through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration based on user feedback while applying software engineering best practices (code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability).
- Continuously evaluate and improve the user experience of our applications by generating creative ideas for intuitive and visually appealing interfaces.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering focused on production-grade applications and services.
- Bachelor's/master's degree in Computer science, Engineering, Mathematics or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in fronted tech stack TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js, React) with strong REST API and UI development experience.
- Experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph), cloud-native AI workflows, and AWS deployments preferred.
- Strong communication skills, product mindset, and collaboration skills, with fluency in CI/CD, testing, and observability.
- Familiarity with Python and data processing engines (Spark/Polars/DuckDB), SQL, and ETL/data pipeline development in Palantir Foundry is advantageous.
