Business Function
Risk Management Group – Operational Risk (RMG-OR) develops and maintains the Bank's risk management and internal control frameworks. As a second line function, we provide independent review and challenge to the business and support units to ensure a proper balance between risk and return in decision-making. RMG also monitors and reports on key risk issues of the Bank, and apprises management and risk committee(s) of the overall operational risk profile. Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading, conceptualising and executing data analytics initiatives (through machine learning, generative artificial intelligence tools) to transform operational risk management tools and processes
2. Manage the definition of project scope, objectives, and deliverables, developing comprehensive project plans and timelines.
3. Driving discussions with stakeholders to gather user requirements and monitor status and provide updates to management
4. Bridging the RMG-Operational Risk function and the Technology teams, understand and translate business requirements into system requirements and enhancements
5. Developing User Stories, performing User Acceptance Testing for system-related changes and resolving system production issues
6. Tracking the progress of development activities, identifying potential roadblocks and proposing alternative solutions or workarounds
7. Developing and maintaining comprehensive system-related documentation and resources to ensure a seamless user experience
Creating training materials and conduct training sessions for users to ensure they are proficient in using the system and understand any new features or changes
Requirements
1. University degree with major study in Finance, Statistics, Technology or related quantitative disciplines
2. Minimum 8 years of working experience in financial institutions and/or handling system related work
3. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner, and work with people of different levels and across teams
4. Resilient team player, with proven project management skills, who can also perform independently with ability to multi-task
5. Meticulous, structured and systematic individual with an eye for detail
6. Self-motivated individual with positive attitude to challenge status quo and explore changes for improvement
7. Analytical and able to identify/resolve system issues, with ability to holistically consider upstream and downstream impact with each change
8. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint), with strong data analytics capabilities. Experience with SQL and tools such as Qlik Sense and/or Tableau is highly desirable.
9. Experience with machine learning models and a good understanding of GenAI tools, including DBSGPT, is increasingly important and will be highly regarded.
