About this role
Great products only create impact when people understand them, can confidently talk about them, and know how to bring them to customers. That’s where you come in!
We are looking for a Director, Product Enablement to build the connection between what we create and how our teams take it to market. This is a highly visible role at the intersection of Product, Sales, Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Support, and Marketing - turning complex product capabilities, customer needs, and roadmap priorities into knowledge and insights people can actually use.
We’re looking for someone who can quickly understand complex products, make technical information accessible, confidently engage with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, and bring structure to a fast-moving product environment.
What Success Looks Like
You’ll make it easier for teams across ValGenesis to understand our products, confidently communicate their value, and quickly find accurate answers when they need them. Product knowledge becomes more scalable, RFP responses become faster and more consistent, customer feedback becomes more actionable, and Product leadership has better information to support prioritization decisions.
Most importantly, you’ll help create a stronger connection between what we build, what our customers need, and how our teams bring our products to market.
What You'll Do
Build Product Enablement That Scales
- Develop and execute the product enablement strategy aligned with our product roadmap, releases, and go-to-market priorities.
- Design and deliver engaging training for product launches, feature releases, and product updates across Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and other teams.
- Create practical enablement resources including playbooks, FAQs, battle cards, demo guidance, training materials, and certifications.
- Translate complex and technical product information into clear, audience-specific narratives.
- Use AI and emerging technologies to accelerate content creation, presentations, RFP responses, and other recurring enablement workflows.
Become a Trusted Product Resource
- Serve as the first point of contact for product-related RFP questions from Sales and Solution Engineering.
- Build and maintain a reusable library of approved product, feature, security, compliance, and roadmap-safe RFP content.
- Identify recurring questions and knowledge gaps that should inform future product documentation, enablement, or roadmap discussions.
Support Product Prioritization & Decision-Making
- Manage and analyze customer enhancement requests and product ideas, turning field feedback into structured, decision-ready insights.
- Build and maintain RICE scoring and other prioritization inputs for feature candidates, incorporating customer demand, business impact, confidence, effort, and Product Management input.
- Analyze trends across enhancement requests, including frequency, customer segment, source, and potential impact.
- Prepare compelling presentations and supporting materials for proposed features, releases, prioritization discussions, and leadership reviews.
- Provide Product Management leadership with reliable data and analysis to support roadmap decisions while maintaining clear ownership of roadmap prioritization within Product leadership.
Own Our Product Source of Truth
- Own the structure, governance, and ongoing evolution of the internal Product Management portal.
- Ensure product information is accurate, current, easy to find, and clearly owned.
- Establish sustainable workflows for content submission, review, approval, version control, and ongoing maintenance.
- Drive adoption of the portal as the company's trusted source for product information.
- Measure portal effectiveness through usage, search success, content freshness, and contributor compliance.
- Evaluate and recommend new knowledge-management technology as our needs evolve.
Partner Across the Business
- Work closely with Product Management to translate roadmap and feature information into usable content for internal teams.
- Partner with Product Marketing to ensure product enablement aligns with positioning, messaging, and launch strategy.
- Build strong relationships with Sales, Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Support, and Marketing to understand field needs and close product knowledge gaps.
- Regularly present product information, insights, and recommendations to audiences ranging from individual contributors to senior leadership.
- Measure the effectiveness of enablement programs and continuously improve based on adoption, feedback, time-to-productivity, and business impact.
What We're Looking For
- 7–10+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS product environment, with meaningful experience working directly with Product Management and go-to-market teams such as Sales, Solution Engineering, Customer Success, and Product Marketing.
- Demonstrated experience translating complex product capabilities into clear, usable content for different audiences — from technical teams and solution consultants to sales teams and senior leadership.
- Experience building and delivering product enablement programs for new products, feature releases, or major product updates, including live training and supporting enablement materials.
- Hands-on experience working with product roadmaps, feature prioritization, and product planning processes, with a strong understanding of frameworks such as RICE or similar methodologies.
- Experience analyzing customer feedback, enhancement requests, and product ideas to identify themes, quantify demand, and turn unstructured input into decision-ready insights for Product leadership.
- Experience working with idea management or product discovery platforms such as Aha!, Productboard, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated experience building or governing an internal product knowledge base, portal, or similar source of truth, including content ownership, information architecture, governance, and keeping information current as products evolve.
- Strong experience building and presenting executive-level materials, with the ability to take complex information and develop a clear narrative, recommendation, or decision point.
- Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills, with experience leading product discussions, training sessions, or updates with cross-functional and senior audiences.
- Strong technical fluency and the ability to understand product functionality, integrations, workflows, and technical concepts well enough to communicate credibly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles, including responding to product-related customer questions and contributing to RFPs or other complex sales opportunities.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies to improve the speed and quality of research, content development, analysis, presentations, and recurring workflows.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and maintain accuracy in a fast-moving product environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- MBA, advanced degree, or relevant Product Management/Product Marketing certification is an asset.
