About the Role:

The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex can host more than 60 sports across ten world-class venues designed to give every athlete the best possible competition experience. It's the pre-eminent multi-sport facility of its kind in the world. In the Event Changeover Support role you will be responsible for the setting, striking , transporting and monitoring of all equipment requested for each event held at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex and run Disney events. This role encompasses all events at the complex to include but not limited to Soccer, Basketball, Cheerleading, Dance, Baseball, Expo, road races, etc.

The selected candidate will report to the Guest Exp Mgr-Sports Facilities.

This is a Casual Temporary / Seasonal role with no guarantee of weekly working hours, as hours will fluctuate based on business needs.

What You Will Do:

- Assemble, set and strike equipment for events at ESPN Wide World of Sports and run Disney
- Ensure all planned and unplanned equipment needs are met
- Ensure all equipment is properly handled, installed, struck, packaged for transport and all playing surfaces are protected
- Complete tasks regarding event needs, including but not limited to last minute requests and changes to events set up
- Transport, set and strike equipment to and from various locations across Property

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Ability to obtain Forklift, electric Pallet-Jack and Skid Steer (PIT) certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating Pargo and manual Toro vehicle
- Ability to drive vehicles such as large vans, full-size pickup truck with trailer, flatbed trucks and box trucks
- Knowledge of a Guest/Client focused, event driven business
- Strong verbal communication, organizational and time management skills
- Take initiative, work independently as needed and complete event tasks to achieve goals
- Strong understanding of and the ability to deliver on the 5 Key Basics in the day-to-day operation of the event
- Capability to lift, push, pull, bend, twist and kneel 75 pounds
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload and complete work with little guidance
- A sense of urgency along with the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines or responding to unplanned needs
- Proficiency in utilizing hand tools
- Must have full availability and willingness to be flexible with work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime and 3rd shift
- Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions that would include heat, cold and rain
- Must possess a valid US Driver’s License
- Prior event planning and operations experience

Required Education:

- High School diploma or equivalent experience

The pay rate for this role in Lake Buena Vista, FL is $19.60 to $24.50 per hour. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
