NIVI Development (NIVI-D) is a mission-driven small company that brings together researchers, developers, and strategic partners to move innovative vaccine concepts into clinical development. The role

As our new Clinical Immunologist, you will help shape and establish how immunology is integrated into NIVI-D’s clinical and translational development activities. Working closely with NIVI-R scientists, clinical teams and external laboratory partners, you will help translate immunological insights and data into evidence that informs study design and vaccine development.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Support the development and implementation of NIVI-D’s biobanking strategy, including processes for sample collection, processing, storage, tracking and linkage to clinical and laboratory data.
- Develop and coordinate a transparent process for access to biobanked samples, including scientific review, prioritisation, documentation and traceability.
- Support the definition of immunological endpoints and sampling strategies for clinical and epidemiological studies, ensuring alignment between scientific questions, available samples, assays and development objectives.
- Work with NIVI-R Human Immunology teams and other collaborators to translate research methods into robust and feasible clinical or translational assays, including appropriate SOPs and data documentation.
- Coordinate the implementation, optimisation, qualification and, where relevant, technology transfer of priority clinical immunology assays, including serological, functional and cellular assays.
- Work with NIVI-R and external laboratory partners to establish appropriate assay capacity and promote standardised and reproducible assay performance across studies.
- Analyse and interpret immunological data alongside relevant clinical, epidemiological and microbiological data and translate findings into practical recommendations for study design and vaccine development.
- Participate in programme teams and scientific discussions and contribute, where appropriate, to exploratory analyses, scientific publications and conference presentations.

About you

You are a collaborative and scientifically curious immunologist who enjoys working at the interface between research and clinical development. You are comfortable combining strategic thinking with practical coordination across samples, assays, laboratories and data. You communicate clearly across disciplines, work systematically and bring a solution-oriented approach to complex scientific questions. You are motivated by the opportunity to help translate immunological findings into decisions that advance vaccine development.

Qualifications

- MSc in immunology, vaccinology, infectious diseases or a related field. A PhD is preferred but not required.
- Relevant experience in human immunology, translational research or vaccine development.
- Hands-on experience with immunological assays, clinical samples and/or biobanking.
- Experience with assay development, optimisation or qualification.
- Strong analytical, systematic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret immunological data in a clinical or translational context.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work across academic, clinical and external laboratory environments.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
