WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Software Engineer II, you will be part of the PassPlay Engineering team, which is Nike's global benefits program and engagement platform that powers employee, partner, and member rewards, discounts, and exclusive discount experiences across Nike stores .

In this role, you will

- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing full-stack applications using React, C#, .NET Core, React, SQL Server, and AWS.
- Build and maintain cloud-native RESTful APIs and microservices that power Nike's global employee, partner, and member discounts and rewards platform.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver innovative and customer focused solution .
- You will support the team’s agile practices, promoting continuous improvement and collaboration to deliver top-notch in-store applications.
- Develop and enhance Nike’s PassPlay platform , enabling digital rewards , discounts , passes and exclusive member experiences across retail platform .
- Write effective SQL Queries , Store procedures and database optimizations to ensure reliable and performant applications at scale.
- Ensure quality of the code and products throughout the entire development lifecycle (DevOps)
- Ensure continuous improvement in performance, scalability, extensibility, reliability, usability, and availability of the platform.
- Leverage agile methodology concepts for quality, delivery and continuous improvement
- Participate in sprint planning and other scrum ceremonies. Help team plan and execute sprint tickets.
- Work in full DevOps model in the entire tech stack including designing, implementing, deploying, monitoring, and operating services at scale
- Resolve technical issues and remove blockers for the team
- Actively participate in code review and feedback for other developers
- Own build, test, release, and production support for team‑owned capabilities, ensuring stability, incident resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Implement strong observability and operational readiness using Splunk and SignalFx , including monitoring and alerting.

You will be directly working within a team of dedicated engineers that work on the same solutions. You share your experience and technical expertise such that we improve on the longer-term technical strategic direction.

As a Software Engineer II for the Geographies & Marketplace Experiences team, you will contribute to a high scale platform that enables Nike employees, members and partners to unlock exclusive rewards, discounts and personalized experiences across retail and digital channels. You will build resilient, cloud native services that supports millions of customer interactions and power key membership and engagement initiatives.

- A minimum of 4+ years software development experience.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environment
- Experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment (e.g. AWS Services, GCE, Azure etc.)
- Experience in designing and building cloud native microservices and distributed systems using C#, .NET Core, React, Restful APIs, and SQL Server.
- Demonstrate an AI-first mindset, actively leveraging AI powered developer tools (e.g., Cursor) to accelerate development and learning.
- Experience in Test Driven development – with Nunit, Mockito, cucumber, Playwright etc.,
- Experience with monitoring and tracing tools like Splunk, SignalFx, Kibana/Grafana etc.
- Experience working with NoSQL data stores like Cosmos DB/ DynamoDB and relational data stores like SQL Server or Oracle etc.
- Experience with continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests. Continuous delivery experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Scrum and agile principles.
- Working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with globally distributed and diverse teams.
- Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of project/capabilities that includes requirements evaluation, design, implementation, code reviews, observability, maintenance and support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other relevant subject area, or equivalent experience
- Experience with CI/CD ( Jenkins ),Azure devops and engineering hygiene: GitHub workflows (branching, PR reviews, code quality, collaboration) and release readiness
- Observability and operational readiness using Splunk and SignalFx , including monitoring and alerting

The following would be nice-to-have:

- Experience in designing and implementing highly scalable web applications
- Exposure to Stores application areas like Point of Sale and discount management systems.
