LIFE by Be Caring is recruiting compassionate, values-driven Support Workers to join our specialist Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health and Complex Care services in Newcastle.
We currenty have two vacancies - a 1:1 role supporting a lovely lady in NE15, and an outreach role supporting people to live independently across the wider Newcastle area.
Both roles are active and rewarding - and both will make a real, visible difference to the lives of the people you support.
Our Current Vacancies
1:1 Support Worker - NE15
£12.75 per hour | 24-hour shifts | Female applicants only | Drivers only
We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a vibrant, fun-loving lady aged 72 who lives in NE15. She loves shopping, bingo, music and dancing, lodge holidays and crafting.
Shifts:
- Active support: 9:00am - 10:00pm
- Sleep-in: 10:00pm - 9:00am (on-call overnight)
As her Support Worker, you will:
- Support her to live safely and independently, in the way she chooses
- Accompany her on shopping trips, bingo nights, days out and holidays
- Join in with music, dancing and crafting - enthusiasm genuinely required
- Provide personal care with dignity and respect
- Help plan and prepare for activities she loves, including lodge breaks
- Communicate clearly with her wider support network, recording and sharing information with the right people at the right time
We're looking for someone who is:
- Empathetic - genuinely attuned to how she is feeling and what she needs
- An active listener - patient, present and truly engaged
- Proactive - taking the initiative to plan activities and make the most of every day
- Positive and outgoing - bringing good energy into her home and her life
- Adaptable - able to read a situation and adjust quickly when it matters
Outreach Support Worker - Newcastle
£12.75 per hour | Day shifts available
We are seeking caring, reliable and enthusiastic Outreach Support Workers to join our team supporting people across Newcastle to live independently, build confidence and take part in activities they enjoy.
This is a community-based role - you'll be working alongside people as they navigate daily life, helping them develop skills, access support and build the connections that matter to them.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Calm, confident and resilient
- Consistent in their approach
- Clear and positive when setting expectations and boundaries
- An excellent listener with strong communication skills
- Patient, understanding and compassionate
- Reliable and committed to delivering high-quality support
- Able to encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and reassurance
What We're Looking For - Both Roles
You don't need a degree or formal care qualifications - what matters most is your values, your attitude and your willingness to learn. If you're calm, kind, consistent and committed to doing the right thing, we'll give you all the skills and training you need.
Previous experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism or Mental Health needs is welcome but not essential.
