Great manufacturing starts with great planning. As an Operational Scheduler, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of manufacturing operations. You will develop and maintain detailed production schedules, enabling the successful delivery of manufacturing activities while balancing operational priorities and business needs. In this role, you will create and evaluate production scenarios to support capacity increases, process enhancements, production ramp-ups, and shift model adaptations. You will also drive continuous improvement of planning processes and scheduling tools, helping to build a more agile and efficient manufacturing environment.
Job Description
Planning and management of the fine schedule
• Is responsible to provide a feasible plan to the shop floor in terms of materials and capacity availability
• Establish optimized sequence of orders within the Planning Time Fence and keep it up to date, based on rules agreed by manufacturing, Quality and other support functions and in accordance with Customer requirements
• Provide the planning status in the daily production meeting
• Ensure the detailed planning of all operational activities in his unit by integrating production operations, activities related to process validation or equipment cleaning, quality control, qualification and / or requalification of equipment and all technical operations carried out in production areas
• Ensure information flow for upcoming issues in the Time Fence horizon
• Ensure the continuous update and regular communication of the schedule as and when operations are carried out and ensure adherence to the production schedule
• Anticipate and integrate specific punctual requests, needs and constraints of all the departments and partners involved (inside and outside of the unit)
• Ensure the monitoring of all daily production activities in the unit, in line with the process support team
• Ensure priority management in case of unforeseen events and transfers information to production teams following changes if necessary
• Responsible for the maintenance and the quality of the scheduling master data, including reporting
• Analyze the causes of non-compliance with the production schedule (delays or ahead) and implement the appropriate corrective actions
• Participate in the organization of the working time of production technicians, in close collaboration with the Shift leaders
• Ensure the training of Shift leaders and part of the technicians on the basics of the scheduling tool
NOSSCE and mid/long term scheduling activities
• Create planning templates for the production and adapt them according to foreseen run rate increases for strategic decision-making
• Manage manufacturing orders in the ERP system (launch, production declarations, closure, etc.)
- Order Management: verify material and documentation availability and release orders to production
• Support the shop floor control KPI and reporting
• Plan, continuously monitor, analyze and share with the Process team lead the information concerning human resources needs, risks and opportunities according to the production schedule
• Participate to the analysis/simulations of human resources, material and technical needs to ensure the proper execution of the production plan in the mid/long term range (ramp-up, run rate increase...)
• Participate in the definition of the mid/long term manufacturing, in particular the campaigns sequence and shutdowns
• Designer / create schedules for technical shutdown in collaboration with the various departments involved
• Management of the schedule related NOSSCE KPIs
• Responsible for investigations and actions definition linked with schedule adherence
Quality and HSE
• Promote and improve the Quality and HSE culture
• Comply with GMP and HSE rules and policies
• Be responsible for the compliance to the principles and practices described in the "Novartis Manufacturing Manual" and their implementation on the site for his area
Operational Excellence and Continuous improvement
• Continually seek to improve the efficiency of its work and to simplify current process. In particular, regularly optimize and simplify the production schedule to improve efficiency and management
• Contribute to continuous improvement by making proposals and participating in the implementation of tangible and effective actions
• Ensure the implementation, monitoring and communication of performance indicators related to its activities.
• Regularly analyze the rate of use of human resources and techniques, distribution and organization of production activities, their efficiency and propose productivity gains by applying a Lean-IQP approach
Training and Learning
• Support the T&L organization in defining and maintaining appropriate qualification criteria for in-scope areas of expertise
• Support the T&L organization in defining and maintaining training to support associates achieving qualification
• Deliver instructor-led training for areas of in-scope expertise
Key Performance Indicators
• NOSSCE schedule based KPIs
• Adherence to production planning and availability of production schedule
• Quality / HSE: number of planning errors with Quality / HSE impact
• Cost: cost of non-quality (production variances, FEFO management, etc.)
• Continuous improvement: productivity gains associated with the optimization of planning and human and technical resource management
• Productivity/Capacity: simulation accuracy reflecting manufacturing expectations

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: 45,900 - 65,600 - 85,300 EUR.
The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
