Title: Bilingual Career Development Specialist
Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary: $45,000
Scope of Position: The Bilingual Career Development Specialist provides individualized career development, case management, and community-based support; coordinates workforce and supportive services; ensures WIOA and program compliance; maintains accurate records; and monitors participant progress and employment outcomes.
Essential Functions
- Conduct individualized assessments of participants’ employment, career development, and personal needs to identify barriers, skills, and opportunities; develop and monitor Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) and career development plans to support employment goals.
- Determine WIOA eligibility and accurately complete all required enrollment and program documentation.
- Develop professional working relationships with participants, providing bilingual career development and support services to identify and address barriers to obtaining and retaining employment.
- Provide referrals and coordinate services with appropriate community, social service, workforce, and supportive service agencies based on participants’ identified needs.
- Coordinate participant activities, workshops, training, and employment-related services, while addressing attendance, scheduling, and participation challenges to promote engagement and successful completion.
- Provide comprehensive case management, follow-up, and retention services; monitor participant progress and employment outcomes, including required post-placement contacts, in accordance with program and contractual requirements.
- Maintain timely, accurate, organized, and confidential participant records, databases, case files, and case notes documenting contacts, services, activities, progress, referrals, and outcomes in accordance with program requirements.
- Collaborate with appropriate staff, workforce partners, employers, service providers, and funding agencies to coordinate services, documentation, and participant support.
- Monitor participant progress and outcomes to support achievement of established program goals, performance measures, and contractual requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, staff training, and special projects that enhance program quality and service delivery.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience in career counseling
- Ability to adapt to changing program, contract, and organizational needs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accurate and timely documentation of participant contacts and services.
- Demonstrated effective telephone, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish.
