Position Overview

The Field Operations Manager — Nevada owns install, trouble, and maintenance for the Southern Nevada Stimulus Broadband market. This is a local, full-time Southern Nevada seat. You supervise existing Field Technicians. Your primary duty is managing, coaching, scheduling, and quality. Technicians perform new installs, disconnects, change orders, troubleshooting, maintenance, and locates / 811 when needed, on our existing Fixed Wireless Network and our soon-to-launch fiber network. Field Operations sits under Network Operations in the current org. This role will report to a future Director of Network Operations; until that seat is filled it is overseen by the Vice President of Broadband Services. Full-time presence in the Southern Nevada market is an explicit expectation of this hire.

What You'll Be Doing

- Own install, trouble, and maintenance for the Southern Nevada market’s fixed wireless and soon to launch fiber network on a full-time local basis.

- Supervise, coach, and develop existing Field Technicians. Hire additional technicians as approved by leadership.

- Own the local schedule for installs, disconnects, change orders, trouble, and maintenance. Track daily production and completion status (jobs completed, exceptions, rework).

- Conduct regular field quality checks with technicians to coach standards and catch gaps early. Primary time is spent managing and coaching but also not afraid to assist the team in the field when needed.

- Inspect completed work for workmanship, proper routing, labeling, documentation, and customer-ready finish. Hold the team to leave every customer site clean and restored.

- Resolve access, permit, or property-access problems that block a job; do not leave crews stuck without a path.

- Enforce installation and safety standards on fiber and fixed wireless work, including ladders, rooftops, towers, and elevated structures. Run safety expectations and check PPE for your team.

- Own local first-time-fix, documentation quality.

- Participate in after-hours and on-call coverage for the Nevada market.

- Partner with local sales and customer service teams so sold orders can be installed and billed.

- Remain current on wireless, fiber, and cable equipment standards.

- Stay adaptable as the Nevada bench grows and as Stimulus Broadband adds plant and markets.

Success Profile

- A full-time local working manager who owns the Southern Nevada market as it exists — present in market, not remote.

- Previous experience leading field teams. Judgment to coach technicians well.

- Strategic thinker and problem solver. Can hold schedule, safety, quality, and acceptance as one outcome.

- Willingness to always look out for the customer and the business — including the call that plant is not ready and a truck should not roll.

- Comfortable working outdoors and strong troubleshooting judgment on wireless, fiber, and customer-premise issues so you can coach effectively.

- Holds the team to a standard — and coaches in the field, not only from the desk.

- See a need and fill it: a missed locate, a truck without parts, a customer who is about to have a bad day, a gap that leaves the market uncovered.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Previous experience leading field teams.

- Strategic thinker and problem solver.

- Willingness to always look out for the customer and the business.

- Reliable work history leading field crews in an ISP, WISP, telecom, or similar environment.

- Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting wireless, fiber, and related customer-premise equipment, or managing people who do.

- Working knowledge of IP addressing, router configuration, network connectivity troubleshooting, and wireless equipment setup.

- Comfortable using mobile applications, tablets, and field service tools for daily production and completion tracking.

- Ability to manage vehicles, tools, and inventory in one market under Supply Chain policy.

- Availability for after-hours and on-call coverage; ability to commit to a full-time Southern Nevada Field Operations Manager schedule.

- Preferred: fiber splicing; ComTrain or OSHA 10 / OSHA 30; 811 / damage-prevention experience; prior full-time market ownership in Nevada or a comparable ISP market.

Physical Requirements

- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.

- Climb ladders, rooftops, towers, and elevated structures safely.

- Work in outdoor environments, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and varying terrain.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work at heights for extended periods.

- Ability to drive regularly across the Nevada market for installs, trouble, supervision, and ride-alongs.

Requirements

- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
