Summary   of Role:

The  IT Operations Finance and Asset Manager  is responsible for driving financial governance, budget planning, software asset management, technology cost optimization, forecasting and investment transparency across Global IT Operations.

This role serves as the primary partner between IT Operations, Finance, Procurement, Service Owners, and IT enablement office to ensure technology investments are financially optimized, software assets are compliant and cost-effective, and operational spending aligns with strategic priorities.

The position provides leadership in annual budgeting, multi-year financial planning, software license governance, technology cost transparency, forecasting, vendor spend oversight, and executive reporting. The role enables informed decision-making through financial insights, software consumption analytics, and operational performance metrics.

Essential Responsibilities :

Financial Planning & Budget Management

- Lead annual operating expense (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning activities across Global IT Operations.

- Develop multi-year financial plans aligned with GFIT strategic priorities.

- Manage quarterly forecasts, monthly variance reviews, and budget performance reporting.

- Maintain financial models supporting infrastructure, cloud, workplace, applications, telecom, and managed services.

- Support investment planning, funding approvals, and business case development.

- Establish financial governance processes for technology spending.

Software Asset Management (SAM)

- Lead the enterprise Software Asset Management program.

- Establish and maintain SAM policies, standards, and operating procedures.

- Govern software license compliance, entitlement management, and renewal planning.

- Drive software utilization analysis and optimization initiatives.

- Partner with Procurement to manage enterprise software agreements and licensing strategies.

- Coordinate software vendor audits and compliance reviews.

- Develop enterprise-wide software lifecycle governance practices.

Technology Cost Governance & Optimization

- Develop and maintain service cost models and total cost of ownership (TCO) frameworks.

- Establish technology spend transparency across services and towers.

- Analyze software, cloud, telecom, and infrastructure consumption trends.

- Identify and execute cost reduction, cost avoidance, and optimization opportunities.

- Implement showback and financial transparency models where appropriate.

- Monitor ongoing operational costs against business value delivered.

Vendor & Commercial Management

- Partner with Procurement and strategic suppliers to support contract negotiations and renewals.

- Track software maintenance, subscription, licensing, and support agreements.

- Provide financial and utilization data to support sourcing decisions.

- Ensure vendor consumption aligns with approved budgets and licensing commitments.

- Identify opportunities for contract consolidation and commercial optimization.

Portfolio Governance & Investment Planning

- Support portfolio prioritization and investment decision-making

- Develop financial analysis supporting technology investments and transformation initiatives.

- Track run, grow, and transform spending across the IT portfolio.

- Provide leadership reporting on investment performance and value realization.

- Collaborate with Service Owners to align financial planning with technology roadmaps and operational priorities.

Audit, Compliance & Risk Management

- Serve as the primary liaison for software licensing audits and compliance reviews.

- Ensure compliance with software contracts, procurement policies, and financial controls.

- Maintain audit-ready records supporting software governance and financial accountability.

- Partner with Internal Audit, Legal, and Procurement teams to mitigate licensing and financial risks.

Executive Reporting & Operational Insights

- Produce executive dashboards and business reviews covering:

- Budget performance

- Forecast accuracy

- Software compliance

- License utilization

- Cost savings and cost avoidance

- Technology spend trends

- Renewal risk exposure

- Investment portfolio performance

- Present recommendations and insights to IT leadership and executive stakeholders.

- Establish KPI frameworks supporting operational excellence and financial accountability.

Other Responsibilities:

- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related discipline.

- MBA preferred.

Experience

- 10+ years of experience in IT Financial Management, Software Asset Management, Procurement, Business Management, or IT Operations.

- Experience managing enterprise technology budgets.

- Experience overseeing large-scale software licensing and compliance programs.

- Experience partnering with Finance and Procurement organizations in a global enterprise environment.

Expected Salary Range
$105,000.00 - $189,000.00
