Registered Nurse - Team Lead - Grandview Plaza Location

Position Summary

The Grandview Plaza Team is looking for an experienced oncology nurse responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, supportive therapies, and other oncology treatments. The position primarily works in the treatment room while serving as the clinical team lead for nursing, laboratory, and pharmacy staff within the clinic.

This role provides day-to-day clinical leadership, coordination, and support to the treatment team while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, quality of care, operational efficiency, and an exceptional patient experience. The Team Lead serves as a resource and role model for peers, promotes effective communication among clinical departments, and helps ensure that established policies, procedures, and standards of care are consistently followed.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong oncology nursing knowledge, sound clinical judgment, leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to effectively coordinate multiple clinical functions in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the treatment room, including assessment, monitoring, education, and evaluation of treatment response.

• Serve as the primary day-to-day clinical resource and team lead for nursing, laboratory, and pharmacy staff within the clinic.

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, blood products, injections, and other prescribed treatments in accordance with established protocols and safety standards

• Serve as a liaison between the treatment team and clinic leadership.

• Review treatment orders, laboratory results, medications, allergies, and relevant clinical information prior to treatment.

• Assess patients before, during, and after treatment and promptly recognize and respond to adverse reactions, complications, or changes in condition.

• Initiate appropriate interventions for treatment-related reactions and emergencies and coordinate additional medical care when necessary.

• Access and maintain central venous access devices and perform other nursing procedures in accordance with established standards.

• Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, medications, side effects, symptom management, and when to contact the practice.

• Reinforce provider instructions and treatment plans and promote patient understanding and adherence.

• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable regulatory requirements.

Required

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Oncology nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient chemotherapy/hematology setting.

• Demonstrated knowledge of chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration and oncology nursing practices.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary clinical team.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred

• OCN certification.

• Experience with electronic medical records and oncology-specific clinical systems.
