Title:
After School Youth Tutor
Job Summary:
Implement a structured learning component for the participants in the youth Countdown to College program, as well as maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all services provided.
Accountable to:
Program Coordinator and/or Program Director
Duties and Responsibilities
- Tutor/mentor children who request tutoring services.
- Implement a well-defined schedule of service hours.
- Tutor/mentor students with college preparation on SAT, PSAT, and ACT
- Assist students in career preparation
- Maintain active communication with parents and review report cards of program participants to ensure program effectiveness.
- Supervise volunteer tutors and assign those tasks or tutoring participants.
- Complete and maintain files on each student tutored daily.
- Implement supplementary enrichment activities.
- Register as a Program Van Driver: If you are of legal age (21 for females, 25 for Males)
- Transport participants or field trips
- Ensure that permission slips are present for everyone in the agency vehicle
- Maintain first aid and CPR certification as required.
- Perform all tasks assigned so long as they are in keeping with the mission, purposes, and goals of the agency.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate or GED and/or College Degree or Attending College
Valid Driving License
Good driving record
Good communication skills
Experience: At least one year experience working with youth
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
