## Job Description:
The Lead Medical Assistant (MA) is a key member of the clinical support team who actively contributes to patient care delivery and assists with coordinating daily clinic operations. The Lead MA supports the clinic manager by performing a variety of operational and administrative responsibilities, while also serving as a clinical resource for the care team by mentoring staff and assisting with training new and existing team members. This role blends direct patient care responsibilities with clinical, operational, and administrative support duties while acting as a resource within the clinic.

Education:

- Completion of Medical Assistant Program - Accredited - Required
- High School Graduate or Equivalent - Preferred

Experience:

- 3 years Healthcare - Medical Assistant - Required
- Healthcare - Electronic Health Records - Required
- Medical Office - Required
- 3 years Healthcare - Healthcare Administration - Preferred
- Experience training and mentoring staff on ambulatory workflows and protocols, with knowledge of Operator Standard Work to ensure consistency and quality – Preferred..

Certifications/Licensures:

- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Preferred

Skills:

- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and accurately, coupled with proficiency in creating precise and comprehensive documentation.
- Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives.
- Strong clinical skills; able to perform clinical tasks accurately and safely
- Ability to accurately escalate patient concerns and communicate provider instructions via phone and patient portal.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to reinforce adherence to standard workflows and processes among team members.
- Knowledge of privacy, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills for addressing patient and operational issues.
- Leadership and team coordination skills to support staff and maintain efficient clinic operations.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to ensure a positive patient experience.

Pay Range:
$36.23 - $48.90

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area .
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
