Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Working 1st shift but expected to work some evenings for late coverage/group therapy. Expected to support The Healing Center programming at Sinai and Sojourner Family Peace Center locations.

Pay Range:
$33.05 - $49.60

Major Responsibilities:
- Provides crisis intervention, initial psychosocial intervention at time of sexual assault examination, post-assault short-term counseling and follow-up for complex patients/clients, long-term counseling, and information and referral to available services. Crisis intervention and follow-up may be provided in person or by phone.
- Conducts comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment interventions and measurable outcomes to patients with a history of sexual trauma. Develops aftercare plans as appropriate.
- Provides case management for complex patients/clients.
- Makes appropriate referrals to and works in collaboration with abuse response advocates for advocacy services and service coordination.
- Provides trauma-informed response and best practices to support victims in immediate and long-term recovery.
- Communicates effectively with patients, family, other members of the health care team and community agencies toward the resolution of issues which could impact the continuity of care.
- Provides community and professional education and outreach services in order to enhance the services of the center. Acts as a liaison to appropriate community partners (i.e. colleges, partner SA agencies, etc.).
- Provides expert witness testimony on sexual assault cases in court as needed. Tracks caseload of social work referrals and interventions.
- Compiles records and prepares reports, including case files and correspondence with client and other mental health and social service providers involved as needed. Maintains timely documentation through the abuse response database (ARDE).
- Facilitates and oversees support groups. Provides support as needed to the center Hotline. Supports grant management processes and documentation as needed. May provide clinical supervision for treatment trainees and students as assigned.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Social Worker license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or
- Professional Counselor license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or
- Professional Counselor Training license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or
- Social Worker, Adv Practice license issued by the state of Wisconsin.

Education Required:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, or
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling.

Experience Required:
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in behavioral health field, with experience in trauma, post traumatic stress disorder and therapeutic modalities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the application of theory, practice and techniques of trauma therapy and the ability to do accurate diagnoses.
- Excellent crisis intervention and/or long term counseling skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse individuals including age, gender, sexual orientation, religious orientation, ethnicity, socio-economic status and education level.
- Creates and facilitates a productive team environment, emphasizing openness, ethics, "best practice" service delivery and continued learning and development for all staff.
- Proficient computer skills including using Microsoft Office or similar programs.
- Knowledge of criminal justice, health care and social service systems in relations to sexual assault.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Will be required to sit, stand, squat and kneel throughout the workday.
- Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Exposed to a normal office environment.
