Technician II – Plumbing

We're looking for an experienced Plumbing Technician II who takes pride in their work, knows how to troubleshoot problems, and understands the importance of responding when our stores need support. This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts our stores and the teammates working in them.

You'll travel between our grocery locations throughout Kansas and Missouri, handling plumbing repairs, preventative maintenance, and urgent service needs. You'll work closely with store teams and leadership to identify issues, determine the right solution, and get the job done safely and correctly.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plumbing Maintenance & System Reliability: Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and store equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

- Plumbing Service Execution & CMMS Utilization: Respond to internal service requests through the CMMS and perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, and fixtures.

- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution : Identify and resolve plumbing issues by inspecting, testing, and diagnosing systems across all operational areas of the store, including food preparation areas and restrooms.

- Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Perform all work in accordance with OSHA and applicable plumbing codes, ensuring safe practices while working with water systems, piping, and related equipment.

Essential Job Duties:

- Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to receive, prioritize, update, and complete plumbing-related work orders, ensuring accurate documentation

- Accurately document work performed in the CMMS, including notes, parts used, labor time, and status updates

- Respond to internal store service requests and travel from the Support Office to store locations to assess and complete plumbing repairs

- Respond promptly to emergency plumbing issues (e.g., leaks, clogs, backups) to minimize operational disruption and property damage

- Inspect, operate, and test plumbing systems located in sales floor areas, back rooms, kitchens, restrooms, and mechanical spaces

- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems including pipes, valves, drains, water heaters, and fixtures

- Install, repair, or replace plumbing components such as faucets, sinks, toilets, garbage disposals, and piping systems

- Clear blockages and maintain proper drainage using appropriate tools and equipment

- Monitor water pressure, flow, and system performance to identify and resolve potential issues

- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on plumbing infrastructure and related store equipment

- Operate lifts, ladders, and material handling equipment as needed

- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively

- Maintain accurate service logs and documentation

- Communicate effectively with store teammates, leadership, and vendors

- Maintain a professional, service-oriented presence in store environments

- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and hand jacks as needed to access and complete maintenance and repairs in various equipment locations

- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned work

- Maintain accurate service logs, work orders, and basic computer-based documentation

- Communicate effectively and professionally with store teammates, leadership, and vendors regarding service needs and repairs

- Provide a professional, approachable, and service-oriented presence while working in store environments

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

- Support additional maintenance or facility-related needs

- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

- Required: 2+ years of experience in plumbing, facilities maintenance, or related field

- Required: Knowledge of plumbing systems, piping, drainage, and troubleshooting (commercial preferred)

- Required: Experience using a CMMS or work order management system

- Required: High school diploma or GED

- Required: Valid driver's license

- Preferred: Trade school or technical certification in plumbing
