Kids in Tech is recruiting SPARK AmeriCorps Members to serve with students in the Greater Lowell area.
SPARK AmeriCorps Members help expand access to engaging STEM learning experiences for elementary and middle school students. Members work directly with young people, support hands-on STEM programming, and build meaningful experience in education, youth development, and community service.
What You'll Do
As a SPARK AmeriCorps Member, you will:
- Support hands-on STEM and enrichment programming for students
- Build positive, supportive relationships with young people
- Assist with program preparation, activities, and student engagement
- Work alongside Kids in Tech staff and school/community partners
- Participate in training, professional development, and AmeriCorps service activities
- Help create welcoming learning environments where students can explore, experiment, and build confidence
What You'll Receive
During your service term, you will receive:
- $16,000 AmeriCorps living allowance , paid in biweekly installments during your period of service and subject to applicable tax withholding
- An AmeriCorps Segal Education Award upon successful completion of the required service term and hours
- Training and professional development
- Hands-on experience in STEM education, youth development, and community service
- The opportunity to make a direct impact on students and families in Greater Lowell
Who We're Looking For
You do not need to be a STEM expert.
We are looking for people who are dependable, curious, community-minded, and excited to work with young people. Strong candidates may be recent graduates, emerging educators, career changers, or individuals interested in gaining experience in education, STEM, nonprofit work, or public service.
Applicants should be prepared to commit to the required AmeriCorps service schedule and complete all eligibility and background-check requirements.
