As an Assistant Vice President within the Commercial Loan Operations Governance & Initiatives team, you will support and lead process improvement, project, and strategic initiative activities across the Commercial Loan Operations organization. The individual will apply strong commercial lending, analytical, and project execution experience to help deliver change across a portfolio of syndicated credit facilities where MUFG acts as Administrative Agent, Bilateral Lender, or Participant/Member in a syndicated transaction.

The AVP will work closely with Agency and Member Servicing, Middle Office, Control & Assurance, Technology, and other Operations teams or business partners. The role requires the ability to independently manage assigned workstreams and deliverables, translate operational needs into actionable requirements, assess complex data and processes, and provide clear recommendations to project leadership and stakeholders.

This position contributes to initiatives that affect the performance, risk management, control environment, and operational effectiveness of Commercial Loan Operations.

Responsibilities:

- Lead or independently manage assigned project deliverables and governance activities including milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and stakeholder actions, under the direction of the Senior Project Lead.
- Partner with subject matter experts to translate business needs into requirements, process changes, and actionable project plans.
- Develop and review business requirements, process documentation, UAT materials, executive reporting, and implementation-readiness deliverables.
- Analyze complex data sets and operational processes to identify trends, root causes, risks, control considerations, and improvement opportunities.
- Design and document current-state and future-state processes using Microsoft Visio or similar tools.
- Document procedures and operating model requirements, coordinate stakeholder review and approval, and support implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Prepare executive reports and dashboards covering project status, testing progress, performance metrics, risks, dependencies, and go-live readiness.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, commercial lending operations, business analysis, or project delivery.
- Experience supporting medium- to large-scale process improvement, technology, regulatory, control, or operational change initiatives.
- Experience developing business requirements, process flows, UAT materials, procedures, executive reports, and implementation-readiness deliverables.
- Experience supporting audit, regulatory, control testing, or assurance activities, including evidence management, issue tracking, and remediation.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience working with subject matter experts, Technology, control functions, project leadership, and senior stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word; dashboard and structured reporting experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and interdependent deliverables.
- Knowledge of syndicated or commercial lending operations strongly preferred; LoanIQ experience preferred.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $106K - $130K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
