Medical Staff Coordinator - Clinical Quality Management

Position Summary
Under the Clinical Supervision of the Director of Quality, Regulatory and Patient Safety the Medical Staff Coordinator provides safe, expedient, cost-effective services.

As a member of a team of health care professionals, you will be responsible for the Medical Staff credentialing process. You will have the ability to function independently, make decisions, be detailed oriented, possess time management skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks and projects. The Medical Staff Coordinator behaves in a manner consistent with the standards and ethics of all health care professionals.

As a Medical Staff Coordinator, you will be responsible in providing services to ECU Health Chowan, ECU Health Bertie, and ECU Health Roanoke Chowan.

Responsibilities
As a Medical Staff Coordinator, you will:

- Coordinate provider credentialing, privileging, and reappointment activities.
- Maintain provider records, licensure, certifications, and credentialing databases.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, EMTALA, and medical staff regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a resource for physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership.
- Coordinate medical staff meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and manage follow-up actions.
- Support medical staff onboarding, orientation, and communication initiatives.
- Monitor expiring licenses, DEA registrations, insurance, and board certifications.
- Assist with accreditation surveys, audits, and policy development.
- Manage medical staff communications, call schedules, and administrative processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all provider information and records.
- As directed by the supervisor may have additional tasks.

Minimum Requirements
- Requires High School Diploma or equivalent
- Junior college or college degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a setting in which there a direct involvement with medical staff and advanced level practitioners and its organizations is preferred.

Pay Range
- $22.42 - $32.68 (hourly)

Other Information
- 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday (8 am - 4:30 pm)
- Will work primarily on-site with occasional remote days

ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
