The IT Integration Platforms team designs, develops, implements, and supports secure, scalable, reusable, and well-governed integration capabilities for PG&E. The team connects mobile and web applications, cloud platforms, enterprise systems, data services, and business processes across the company.Integration Platforms advances PG&E’s modernization strategy through APIs, MuleSoft integrations, automation, and product-aligned engineering solutions that improve reliability, accelerate delivery, strengthen operational support, and enhance digital experiences for employees, customers, and business partners. Position Summary

The Product Engineer, Associate supports the design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of applications and integration solutions for PG&E business areas. With guidance from experienced team members, the Associate builds foundational expertise in mobile and full stack development, API integration, MuleSoft, and AI-assisted software engineering practices. Through training, hands-on assignments, and structured development opportunities, the Associate contributes to mobile-enabled applications, front-end and back-end components, RESTful APIs, automated testing, technical documentation, and integration services. Assignments typically involve standard technical problems that require sound analysis and judgment. The Product Engineer, Associate collaborates with peers and cross-functional partners, including product owners, business analysts, architects, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations teams. The Associate communicates technical information clearly and performs all work in accordance with PG&E standards for security, quality, documentation, reliability, and governance.

Job Responsibilities

- Build technical and professional skills through training, coaching, and hands-on assignments.

- Assist with the design, development, configuration, testing, debugging, deployment, and support of mobile, front-end, back-end, API, and integration solutions under the guidance of experienced team members.

- Analyze existing applications and systems, develop logic for new or enhanced capabilities, write code, and test and debug solutions for standard assignments.

- Modify and configure applications and systems in accordance with approved requirements and technical design documentation.

- Develop responsive web and mobile-enabled interfaces, back-end services, business logic, data-access components, and RESTful API integrations using approved PG&E technology standards.

- Create and maintain system, development, testing, deployment, and support documentation, and obtain required reviews and approvals.

- Resolve standard technical problems using sound analysis and judgment, and escalate complex issues when appropriate.

- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to share information, exchange data, and coordinate assigned work with internal and cross-functional partners.

- Participate in Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, testing, demonstrations, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.

- Use approved AI-assisted engineering tools to support coding, test development, documentation, troubleshooting, and productivity while complying with PG&E security, privacy, and governance requirements.

Compensation

The target salary range for this position in the Bay Area is $90,000 to $136,000, with a midpoint of $113,000. While compensation decisions are based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and internal equity, candidates who meet the qualifications for this role will typically be considered around the midpoint of the range.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Experience developing and administering mobile applications.

- Experience integrating RESTful services and APIs.

- Experience with unit-testing frameworks and test-driven development or deployment practices.

- Experience using bug-tracking and source-control tools.

Desired Qualifications

- Knowledge of debugging, defect tracking, and source-control practices.

- Knowledge of mobile devices, technologies, applications, user interfaces, interaction guidelines, and development best practices.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Jira, and source-control platforms.

- Familiarity with modern full stack technologies such as Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, React, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or comparable frameworks and databases.

- Familiarity with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, or comparable integration middleware.

- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Kiro, Microsoft Copilot, or similar engineering productivity platforms.

- Experience applying specification-driven development practices with AI-assisted tooling.

- Knowledge of Agile delivery, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, release management, DevSecOps, and operational support practices.
