Job Description

OPSC Navigator Charge RN is responsible for supervision to the perioperative patient care team and completing medical record reviews, quality assurance auditing of processes and point person for advocate, interpreter, educator for the surgical patient and their family.

Responsibilities
Assesses patient conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input, Collaborates with the OR educator and leadership team to provide education topics related to quality assurance, surgical procedures, and criteria being measured by the OPS-CAHPS score survey., Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and preparation for next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery., Ensures safety activities and medical center processes are accurately accessed and documented, Identifies and facilitates implementation of strategies for sustained work process changes that
facilitate complete and accurate clinical documentation, Identifies trends that require intervention for improvement of pare care issues or risk situations, Maintains competency in OR and perioperative areas to float as needed during staffing shortages., Performs duties in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality
assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Performs related duties as
assigned., Performs quality assurance auditing of processes such as time- outs, site markings, and reports findings to the surgery center director and the quality department, Provides education and information to the patient and family, helping to make the care seamless, continuous, comprehensive. Initiates and documents patient teaching, including family and significant others based on assessment needs. Develops patient education programs and tools., Provides feedback to team members and input to leadership regarding appraisals, Provides leadership and supervision to health care team during shift, Serves as primary reviewer of daily documentation to assure documentation is complete and
consistent with care and reflects legal requirements. Provide direct feedback to clinicians, with reports
and engagement of managers as appropriate, Works with surgical services leadership and others to promote quality in clinical practice by collaborating in the development of guidelines and criteria for measuring the quality of care provided

Requirements
ADN (Required)ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 Days of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln, BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln, PALS (within 1 year of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln, PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification - Sarah Bush Lincoln, RN-Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
