Are you an experienced pharmacy leader passionate about delivering safe, high-quality care and an exceptional patient experience? We are seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor to provide operational leadership for our outpatient pharmacy services and support a team committed to excellence in pharmacy care.
In this role, you will serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for assigned pharmacy location. You will oversee daily pharmacy operations, team performance, patient experience, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial performance. Working closely with Pharmacy Services leadership and interdisciplinary partners, you will help advance strategic initiatives, improve operational performance, and ensure patients receive safe, efficient, and patient-centered pharmacy services.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Provide operational leadership and day-to-day management of assigned outpatient pharmacy services, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and Pharmacist of Record for assigned pharmacy location(s), ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, organizational policies, and payer requirements.
- Oversee prescription dispensing operations and pharmacy workflow with a focus on patient safety, quality, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and departmental performance.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary pharmacy team, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, service assistants, interns, students, and other assigned team members.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, performance management, employee development, corrective action, and succession planning.
- Develop staffing plans that effectively support patient care and operational needs while promoting efficient labor utilization and employee engagement.
- Monitor operational, quality, safety, patient experience, productivity, and financial metrics. Develop and implement action plans to address opportunities and achieve established goals.
- Participate in departmental budget management and support financial, productivity, revenue, and expense objectives.
- Lead quality improvement and operational initiatives, including workflow optimization, process redesign, automation enhancements, technology implementations, and service-line growth.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Services leadership and interdisciplinary partners, including physicians, nursing, population health, case management, campus leadership, human resources, revenue cycle, information technology, and compliance.
- Champion an exceptional patient experience, including overseeing service recovery efforts and addressing patient concerns.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy accreditation standards, payer requirements, controlled substance regulations, inventory management practices, Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements, and other applicable standards.
- Participate in medication safety, quality assurance, risk management, and Culture of Responsibility activities, including event investigation and corrective action planning.
- Support the implementation and optimization of pharmacy information systems, clinical applications, automation technologies, and other operational tools.
- Participate in departmental committees, leadership meetings, and organizational initiatives supporting Pharmacy Services goals and strategic priorities.
- Maintain professional competency and support the education and professional development of pharmacy staff, students, residents, and other learners, as applicable.
Education and Experience Requirements :

- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy preferred.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the State of Delaware, or ability to obtain Delaware licensure within an established timeframe.
- Licensure in additional states supported by Pharmacy Services, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, may be required based on operational needs.
- Certified Pharmacist Immunizer required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in outpatient, specialty, mail-order, or healthcare pharmacy management preferred.

Hourly Pay Range: $66.56 - $106.50
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
