Job Description:

Administrative Assistant to Vice President of Academic Affairs

General Duties:

The Administrative Assistant is a responsible, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable individual who provides support and office administration for the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The role involves a variety of tasks and assignments, including typing, creating mail merges and labels, faxing, copying, and other clerical duties. The Administrative Assistant monitors and maintains office supplies and equipment, enters data from forms, records, and reports into computer systems to maintain databases, and utilizes complex software to complete assignments. This role also coordinates meetings and management activities, handles administrative tasks related to budget, procurement, contracts, inventory control, personnel, safety, security, and records, and participates in special projects and committees as directed by the supervisor. Must be able to read transcripts. The Administrative Assistant is expected to perform all other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field *and* One (1) year of work-related experience *OR* Associate Degree in Business Administrative Technology *and* Two (2) years of work-related experience.

Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service and interpersonal skills, the ability to serve the public, proficiency in computer applications and job-related software, basic conflict resolution skills, and effective oral and written communication. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, ability to operate workroom machinery such as fax machines, copiers, scanners, and shredders, and the ability to prioritize and schedule tasks to meet deadlines and objectives are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years of related work experience.  Previous banner experience.  WorkKeys overall score of silver or higher (provided by SGTC).

Compensation:

Full-time position. Salary commensurate with education and experience.

VP of Academic Affairs and Institutional Advancement Director
