US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Lead Medical Assistant to join Memorial Cardiology Associates in Houston TX.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and support Medical Assistants in daily operations.
- Train new Medical Assistants, ensuring competency and adherence to clinical workflows.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, positivity, and strong communication skills.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Assist with conflict resolution and promote a positive, patient-centered culture.
Clinical & Operational Oversight
- Assist staff with prior authorizations, cardiac clearances, and other clinical administrative tasks.
- Ensure all EKGs and clinical documents are scanned
- Monitor daily task completion and help maintain efficient patient flow.
- Assist with scheduling hospital procedures and other clinical support functions.
- Assist physicians with procedures as needed
- Create weekly Medical Assistant schedules to send to Clinical Manager.
- Address and manage workflow assignments when team members are out of office.
Inventory & Resource Management
- Monitor inventory levels of medical and clinical supplies.
- Ensure exam rooms and clinical areas remain properly equipped and operational.
Quality, Compliance & Patient Care
- Promote compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and organizational policies.
- Ensure accuracy in patient documentation, medication reconciliation, vital signs, and EKG procedures.
- Maintain high standards of patient service, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Support patient safety initiatives and respond appropriately to urgent clinical situations within scope of practice.
- Ensure staff consistently follow clinical protocols and best practices.
Requirements:
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of cardiology clinical workflows and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and support a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.
- Commitment to excellent patient care and continuous process improvement.
