Description

Aggie Animal Dental Center (AADC) , part of Animal Outpatient Specialty Network (AOSN), is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our specialty dental team!

AOSN is a privately owned veterinary outpatient specialty network bringing together board-certified specialists in surgery, dermatology, oncology, dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology, and internal medicine. Our teams are committed to providing exceptional specialty care while giving pet parents the communication, support, and peace of mind they deserve.

At AADC, we focus exclusively on oral and maxillofacial health, but no two days are the same. In addition to routine dental cleanings and extractions, our team performs advanced procedures including root canals, jaw fracture repairs, metal crown placement, oral oncologic surgery, and other complex dental procedures. We also regularly provide advanced dental care at the Oakland and San Francisco Zoos.

Previous veterinary dentistry experience is not required. We are looking for an RVT who is compassionate, positive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and grow within a specialty practice.

Requirements

What You'll Do:

- Calculate and administer medications IV, IM, and SC
- Place IV catheters and perform phlebotomy
- Induce and monitor anesthesia
- Assist with dental and oral surgical procedures
- Prepare, clean, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments
- Provide compassionate nursing care and safely restrain patients ranging from approximately 2–180 lbs., with assistance as needed
- Perform basic patient assessments and communicate findings to the veterinarian
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records, including SOAPs and charges
- Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as directed
- Provide warm, professional client communication, including patient check-in and discharge instructions
- Assist with front-office responsibilities, including phones and scheduling, as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized hospital and contribute to a positive team environment

What We're Looking For:

- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital; specialty experience is a plus but not required
- Strong anesthesia, catheter placement, phlebotomy, and patient-handling skills
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Positive, dependable, and self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team and willing to learn and share knowledge
- Adaptable and able to take initiative in a fast-paced specialty environment
- Comfortable working in a primarily electronic/near-paperless medical environment
- Passionate about providing exceptional patient care

Physical & Work Requirements:

- Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs. independently and safely assist with larger patients
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and move throughout an 8+ hour workday
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Salary Description
$35 - $43 / hour depending on experience
