Summary:
The Leasing Associate – Resident Engagement & Events is a customer-focused, sales-oriented professional responsible for supporting the leasing and occupancy goals of the community while creating an exceptional experience for prospective and current residents.
This position combines leasing, customer service, resident engagement, marketing support, and event coordination . The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, creative, and comfortable building relationships with prospects, residents, vendors, and community partners.
The Leasing Associate will assist prospective residents throughout the leasing process, conduct property tours, respond to inquiries, support applications and move-ins, and help maintain a welcoming and vibrant community atmosphere through resident events and engagement activities.
Essential Function:
Leasing & Sales
- Respond promptly and professionally to prospective resident inquiries by phone, email, online platforms, and in person.
- Greet prospective residents and provide exceptional customer service throughout the leasing process.
- Conduct engaging and informative property tours that highlight community amenities, apartment features, lifestyle benefits, and available services.
- Build rapport with prospects and identify their housing needs, preferences, and priorities.
- Follow up consistently with prospective residents to convert leads into applications and leases.
- Assist with processing applications, verifying information, preparing lease documents, and coordinating move-in activities in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate prospect and leasing activity records in the property's leasing software.
- Monitor availability, pricing, specials, and apartment readiness to provide accurate information to prospects.
- Assist with maintaining strong occupancy and retention through proactive communication and resident service.
- Support renewal outreach and other resident retention initiatives as directed by management.
Resident Experience & Customer Service
- Serve as a welcoming and accessible point of contact for residents and prospective residents.
- Build positive relationships with residents and contribute to a strong sense of community.
- Respond to resident questions and concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
- Assist with move-in coordination and help ensure new residents receive a positive introduction to the community.
- Support resident retention initiatives and community-wide communication.
- Maintain a professional, positive, and service-oriented presence throughout the community.
Resident Events & Community Engagement
- Assist with planning, coordinating, promoting, and executing resident events and community activities.
- Help develop creative event ideas that encourage resident participation, engagement, and retention.
- Coordinate event logistics including calendars, invitations, RSVPs, supplies, vendors, food and beverage, setup, and breakdown.
- Communicate with vendors and community partners to coordinate event-related services.
- Create and distribute event communications through approved community channels, including email, social media, flyers, newsletters, and resident communication platforms.
- Track event participation and gather resident feedback to help improve future events.
- Support community initiatives designed to increase resident engagement and strengthen the overall resident experience.
- Ensure events are conducted professionally, safely, and within established budgets and company guidelines.
Marketing & Community Outreach
- Assist with property marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
- Maintain attractive and accurate leasing materials, signage, brochures, and community displays.
- Support social media and digital marketing efforts as directed by management.
- Participate in outreach efforts with local businesses, employers, schools, organizations, and community partners.
- Identify opportunities to promote the community and generate additional leasing traffic.
- Represent the community professionally at resident events, local events, networking opportunities, and other outreach activities.
Administrative & Community Support
- Maintain accurate records related to prospects, leases, resident communications, events, and outreach activities.
- Assist with daily office operations and administrative responsibilities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional leasing office and tour experience.
- Assist the Community Manager and Assistant Community Manager with special projects and community initiatives.
- Follow all company policies, Fair Housing requirements, safety procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in leasing, property management, hospitality, sales, customer service, event coordination, or a related field preferred.
- Previous multifamily housing experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable using computers, email, social media, and property management/leasing software.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
- Professional appearance and positive, energetic attitude.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends for resident events and community activities.
