Linux System Engineer (Top Secret/SCI with agreement to obtain CI Poly Clearance Required)

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Linux Systems Engineer to provide support to a mission-critical enterprise identity and access management environment. This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability and willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph within the customer's timeline. The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of services offered to external organizations, provide lifecycle systems engineering support spanning development and operations, and apply a combination of technical and functional expertise to recommend solutions that satisfy customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

In this role, the engineer will provide support to Tier II personnel in resolving customer-facing issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and mitigation for operational issues, and communicate findings with stakeholders to establish a feedback loop with development. The engineer will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) reviewing user metrics, system health, and overall performance, implementing proactive measures to support operational availability. Additional responsibilities include developing scripts for operational tasks, utilizing playbook-based automation processes, managing COTS and GOTS software products across multiple environments, ensuring compliance with enterprise security services and applications, and interfacing with customers and external technical teams to diagnose and resolve access issues.

Required Skills/Experience:

- Amazon Web Services (AWS) including S3 Buckets, EC2, and Reserved Instances
- Troubleshooting network-related issues at OSI model layers 4-7
- Linux system administration and infrastructure management best practices
- Systems engineering documentation including network diagrams and data flow diagrams
- Agile team collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket

Preferred Skills/Experience:

- Identity Federation, Single Sign-On, and authorization technologies including SAML, OIDC, OAuth, Kerberos, and smart cards/CACs
- Oracle COTS products including Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Unified Directory, and Oracle WebLogic
- Kubernetes
- Scripting languages including Bash and Python
- LDAP
- ELK stack including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
- Cloud-based architectures beyond AWS
- Cross-domain architectures
- Automated testing and monitoring
- Engineering Review Boards and Change Management processes

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Active Top Secret security clearance; must meet SCI eligibility
- Willingness and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph within the customer's timeline after hire
- U.S. citizenship required
- Security+ certification (current, required before start)
