About this role

MDC Environmental is looking for a safety conscious 2nd Shift - Diesel Mechanic to join the team at our hauling location in Marengo, IL . This shift starts at 3:30pm.

Our Diesel Mechanic will perform repairs and preventative maintenance services and repairs on our trucks and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Will be working on the industrial machinery as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Pay-

This position pays starts at $28/hr based on experience. Overtime is available after 40 hours at time and a half.

Requirements:

- Possess own tools
- Previous work experience required
- Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
